After watching up to ep 14 and waiting for the next episodes - I agree with most of you - Nan Heng is misunderstood all the way - they honestly don't know the truth and making him look bad from the beginning - including blaming him for killing the King's favorite wife?!? And whenever he did something - his so-called father always gives him insults, never ever praising him, looks down upon him, etc. Never ever showering him any love at all. Honestly, I feel like the king/emperor is super selfish in every way -- he only favors the 18th Prince - Nan Rui and Chu Gui Hong. Which I honestly still don't understand up until now why the King/Emperor hates him so much. Not once does he ever show an ounce of care for him - constantly even when Nan Heng was young, he (the King/Emperor) would never ever give him any praises either -- and also appreciates his mom either.
Therefore, in my opinion, I sympathize Nan Heng's actions in many ways. He worked hard to protect his country too for his so-called father/emperor/king. But somehow in the process of protecting -- someone is making him look bad and labeled him off the bat - that's he's the Lord of Death. Like wow, no wonder why the FL - Song Yi Meng misunderstood him too - she literally has stereotyped him too -- and still haven't taken to heart what he said before when he confronted her about it all.
Besides I feel like an eunuch is involved in messing up his life in the past -- cause in the rescuing scene - we get a flashback of him being locked in a cupboard when the fire broke out where he was and force to be trapped in the fire. So, I think there's a lot of reasons why he is mad and misunderstood all these years too. I really feel sad for Nan Heng in general - his past is what shapes most of his life - and his distrust with some people around him and only trust that ones that have been through the think and thin with him.
Anyways, I do hope eventually that both Nan Heng and Song Yi Meng can actually work out the misunderstandings between the two of them and that there be more to their relationship that it is right now.
My 2-cents thus far - don't hate me for it, thanks! Plus it's worth watching too - lots of comical parts in the drama - so I find this both funny and serious at the same time, which I like.
P.S. As for Chu Gui Hong - I don't trust him still at the moment -- nor the Prince 18 - Nan Rui too.

I honestly don't care about that fake sister - she murder others without even blinking - esp Shen Zuitian's one that he cares for! Argh! Let her die a fast death - she is getting on my nerves and a pure liar from beginning to end! She's always faking her injuries and stopping the main ML from pursuing after Rong Shukuang (aka Fang Yi). This 2nd FL is one annoying b**** that won't stay away from them! She's selfish and continues to try break them up!! The f***! Go die - and Yan Shao, kill her - no need to protect her for anything. Let her die!

I am 100% sure Lin Wanci can't be their daughter! She's a liar - and she works on the opposite side "the ones -- Ghost..." - and she keeps on trying to ruin the 2 main leads lives! Like every time I see her, I want to skip the part of it. She's as annoying as h***! Like go and die - fake sick sister!! Garbage -- actually I want her dead soon!! Drive me crazy. As for the Shen Zuitian - if he wasn't manipulated when he was younger I don't think he would be connected with everything -- technically speaking if he wasn't after that so-called "key" to whatever the treasure they are looking for -- he could possibly be friends to the 2 leads since he was the one who gave them a chance to live.

Well actually regular members of this drama is super slow - it's like right now only at ep 6 that's free to watch. But funny thing I also noticed on my WeTV app - 1 & 2 are free, ep 3 VIP, 4-6 free...and the rest of them (7-17) are VIPs. Therefore, it's a possibility that when this variety show will air, there's still some episodes not release yet for regular members without VIP membership still watching it. Plus - then there are new viewers who haven't watch it yet. So, I think whenever they release the special variety show - it'll still be relevant to promo the "Filter" drama still.
Finally finished watching the drama - so there were a lot of misunderstandings between the 2 main leads' families - plus the 2 annoying 2nd leads too. But then again, if there were not a lot of these things -- then there'd be not a lot of story to come out of it. Yet, it could still work without all the messy stuff that the 2 annoying 2nd leads could do without -- I feel like those 2 - 2nd leads were very immature until the stupid last couple of episodes.
As well, the FL - yes she is strong - but I just wished she'd be more honest to the main ML in the story - told him the real truth about the kids and not hide it from him like for almost the whole story - he found out indirectly from the 2nd ML? Gosh, like really girl? You left him for 5 years - come back because of your son's condition and needing "bone marrow transplant"? Yet you don't tell him the truth at all - about the kids - kept your mouth shut for all these times?? You are really selfish at times throughout the story!
As for the main ML - Once he's in love with you he'll do anything to protect you - despite the fact you (the main FL) kept pushing him away.
Like some says - the only main redeeming point was their hot steamy kisses + chemistry + the kids. Other than that it was loaded with way too much misunderstandings and manipulations. Sigh.
