To be honest, this drama is not for everyone's liking or their cup of tea. To me, I finally took the time to watch it after a busy life schedule of my own in my real life. Since it's the holidays for me here and there's a typhoon hitting here. What better way of doing things than to finally pick up some dramas to watch that I couldn't watch - while it air.

To me, this drama was a slice of life as a whole - from their school lives to their university life and working life as a whole. Nothing was out of place or not meant to happen - in real life it's like that too. Not every drama should be full of romance, etc in it. To be honest - there will always be life ups and downs --- and not everything needs to be shown completely either. The cast members in this drama did well and I love this drama as a whole. It was never painful or boring a watch to me. Cause this really leans towards reality - more than anything.

Esp like the FL - Lin Zhi Xia - who will feel that way - when she's too smart for others to comprehend or understand - and makes sense for her to feel socially awkward or feel left out at times too. I get her - although I am not smart like she is - I too feel the same exact pressure and displeasure with others too. Including standing in front of the stage making her first speech in front of everyone to many other situations too - including the math competition, etc.

I am also grateful to have the ML in this drama - be that "bridge" between her and the friends that she ended up being good friends with throughout their lives. The balance was important - as well - he helped Lin Zhi Xia understand many things in her life that she herself can't understand at times. He was there from the beginning - when she became his friend - when they were kids till adulthood. Yes, Jiang Yu Bai had his struggles in life too - including what happened to his mom - her sudden death due to being scammed and having a humongous debt to pay off - by Jiang Yu Bai, himself wasn't easy - yes - he could've told his other friends about it - but he didn't exactly know how to handle it at the time he got the news after their graduation trip together. Yes, it took 5 years before the two leads were reunited again - and reunited again with all their friends together - learning about the truth really broke Lin Zhi Xia a lot - indirectly - it wasn't easy - but she never gave up on him.

Yes, it took them both a long time to realize their feelings (of love to each) - esp since we have Lin Zhi Xia - who's mindset isn't all that simple - her mind works differently in terms of her mathematical mindset, etc. She's beyond your everyday normal person mindset - so when she started to have feelings at first - she wasn't sure what it was - cause she doesn't think that way - she think things in a more logical - scientific and mathematical way. Even her best friend - Tang Ting Ting who tried to help her understand it - her brain (FL) - couldn't compute it properly. It took a while before she could understood it - with the help of Jiang Yubai's special device he created for her - where he spills all his feelings to her that way. In truth both leads - had difficulties expressing their feelings towards each other in-person - they're not a perfect couple who can be direct with their feelings compared to the other on-screen couples that we see in this drama. But overall it was good to me. I loved the fact that they did get married to one another before she was to city to complete a special secretive project for the country of theirs. As well, to be able to see that Yubai did accomplish what he wanted to accomplish after a long time of paying off the debt that his mom own to creditors. Plus be able to stand beside her - at the alumni reunion/award ceremony too.

As for Dr. Shen - his feelings towards Lin Zhi Xia - was one-sided - couldn't say it was toxic - more like an unrequited love for her. Eventually, after realizing the truth - b/w the two leads love for one another - he did step away from it - as it was Lin Zhi Xia's brother that made him realize it all. He even gave them their blessings. Sadly, his so-called short term love feelings with his patient Xiao Shui - ended up tragically - due to the fact her condition was something that was rare and hard to treat - her survival rate was very low and we can see that when she die - she was in another country for treatment - but she didn't survive it - the news broke to him via her last voice message to him. He was actually very heartbroken and sad -- as it did hit him hard. B/c before she left to go abroad for treatment - he did want to confess to her - but she refused/prevented him from doing/saying so. Cause she knew that her life won't last long/survive it all - it was never easy for her and she did do her best to life her last moments of her life as best as she could before her departure for abroad trial treatment - that was a hit/miss for her.

Overall - my two-cents of opinion - I enjoyed it completely - something different than your typical drama - the friendships that were built overtime and eventually the relationships too for each character - was satisfying to me.

Although, the one family I didn't like was Jin Bai Hui's parents. Yes, this kind of family does exist in reality too - honestly - her parents were too toxic and controlling - never giving her the room to breath much - including how her life should be like in school or even after she graduated and wanted a decent love life of her own too. It was ridiculous that her parents even dare to arrange her to be with someone that she had no interested in or love at all - she definitely won't be happy at all in that relationship - if she were to marry the one her parents chose for her. I'm glad that she stuck with Lin Zhi Xia's brother all the way - and that's what I like about her. It was even great what Lin Zhi Xia's brother did for her from the beginning to end - he never gave up on her and expressed his feelings to her pretty quickly too. It made her feel the "love" that was missing from her own family that she never got to have at all. If I were her, I'd rather break/cut ties from her toxic parents - not one moment - did they even understand her at all. I'm glad that Lin Ze Qiu and Jin Bai Hui did get married as well too. As we can see that they both had feelings towards each other back in high school/college/university days too - including when they both were working too. The major connection b/w the two - aside from Lin Zhi Xia - was their love for astronomy too.

As for Duan Qi Yan and Tang Ting Ting's relationship - it was a battle zone for them both - always like to bicker a lot or tease one another - but deep down I can see that Duan Qi Yan had feelings towards her for a long time too - as well as Tang Ting Ting too - although all the bantering is happening b/w the two - the two of them do care for each other whenever one is not around or has issues/difficult problems that can't be resolved, etc. Although we may not see them get married together - we do see that they did officially get together in the story and became lovers too.

I think the scene I enjoyed the most - was when the friends/classmates of theirs got together to form a band for a school event - and that moment was the most memorable and enjoyable part for me - as it shows the struggles they all had in order to pull off that performance and made all the students, teachers and parents there - happy, proud and had a blast at the same time.

So, for me - I would recommend the drama - to others - who like a slice of life kind of storyline - that's not rushed and don't have high expectations from it. Enjoy it if you can.

One other ML in this drama is one of the older brothers - is played by Yang Shuo (杨硕) - {not the veteran Chinese actor Yang Shuo aka 杨烁 - different character but same pronunciation} - but a micro-drama -actor - we definitely need a new proper MDL profile for him. He is a rising Chinese mainland actor who regularly appears in micro-short dramas.

To be honest - it took her such a long time to rid of her ex-fiancé - but then again it was the ex-fiance that won't let her go - didn't understand why she left him - so in a way he was willing to learn why and at the end of their relationship - finally he understood - and when she turned him down again - of his proposal to her - he finally told her I will support your decision - and then she left him - and it many ways signifies that he left her too - agreeing with her final decision b/w the too. As it took him a long time to understand what she actually wanted in life - not what he wants her to be in life - which has been tormenting the FL for a long time - as her family and his family + others kept on pushing her towards things she doesn't like or being ignored by others of her own true self - including her health, owning a dog, etc. All of this leads to her mental health breaking down - we see the FL constantly fainting b/w of all those so-called people who are her family, etc - kept on pushing her to do things she doesn't like at all.

As for the ML in the story - we can see that he really likes/loves her from when he was young - when they both were kids till now. He never waver in his feelings towards her and never let anyone else be in his life. His is totally devoted to her and willing to be there for her whenever she need him. Although many times we would want her to be more bold in their relationship - but we also need to understand that - she has just got out of one relationship - jumping into another - isn't that ideal realistically. She also have to deal with a greedy selfish traitor - her so-called best friend - who is actually a toxic girl - who find ways to try to ruin her reputation and life too. Anyways, we see that she (the ex-best friend) - gets kicked out by the school for spreading lies and the countryside too.

Finally at the end - we get to see that she (FL) finally willing to take the next step into their relationship (with the ML) and we are left with that as the ending. To be honest - I wished there was more to it - to actually see that they get married and start a new life together as a married couple - and bring the who tea industry - resort area to the next level as it deserves to be.

I just watched it - it was a hilarious comedy drama of all times - but then again there are parts that feel like A.I was being used - esp the gossip women at the company of the ML's where the FL is working at - alongside with those 3 women - the men around them felt like A.I too. Feels real and weird to watch those parts.

But other than those people, I think most of them are real - of course the main leads are real, along with the family members are real. So is the evil woman too along some of the other people in the drama.

Does anyone have the names of the other actors in this drama - such as the (1st) oldest brother's name (real actor's name - because he looks familiar but I can't remember his name), 3rd Brother, 4th/5th Brother (I think it's the one who keeps running to 1st brother) and 6th Brother too? As well who is the actor who played the husband of Shu Ning's and Jin'er (their kid)?

So true - way too many actors out there - it's so fierce and harsh realty at the same time. Thankfully I am glad he's back even if the drama is a short one.

I really miss Xing Zhao Lin in full length dramas... It's been a while since I've seen him last on TV. But I guess, I read that he's more into theater acting rather than on-screen. Back in the days, when he did The Eternal Love series (2017) S1-3 he was the best there. Alongside his other dramas too. This one, although short, it's quite interesting too.
