it's a sub problem. they're calling him "juan ye" where juan is his name and ye (爷) is an honorary suffix used after a man's name. it's the ye in lao yeye (grandpa) or da ye (uncle/elderly male)

you should definitely give this drama a try! the chemistry is amazing. it does have a sad ending, and there are two special episodes released. it's about their life together with a kid. it didnt really relate to the main drama, just something special and comforting for fans
