Still trying to figure out the meaning behind the title 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔. Usally the title…
The title from the Chinese novel is Chusan’s Liuyi Children’s Day. It literally combines the names of the two main characters: He Chusan - "Chusan" Xia Liuyi - "Liuyi" "Liuyi" is also the Chinese way of referring to June 1st, which is International Children’s Day in China. I think English translators simplified it to “Sammy’s Children’s Day.” I don't know why though or if "Sammy" has any specific meaning. In general, I think it symbolizing their bond and the fragile innocence they try to preserve in a harsh criminal world.
Oh, you have no idea how much I miss our boys every single day! The special is taking forever. I think that's mostly why. They promised us a special and now we can't move on until we get it 😭
Yes, it also has similarities with RLs title, but with TMS it even has the exact same shades. When I saw the titles, I got so confused that I went back to check again 😅
interesting, so are Korean or Thai BL fans far less toxic in your opinion?
No one got offended. You made a public comment, and I just shared my opinion. I don’t think toxicity has anything to do with whether someone prefers Chinese, Thai, or Korean BL, it’s about the person. I say this because I’ve seen a lot of toxicity from fans of all kinds. As for why you think I got offended… if you scroll down the comments on this series, you’ll see my name on many of them, and you’ll realize that we basically have the same opinion about people who compare this series to others. Actually, in general, about anyone who compares series and promotes some just to put others down. That’s it. I hope you have a wonderful day too.
I see a lot of comments already comparing this series to other Chinese BLs. I find that a bit unfair since only one episode has aired so far, and in my opinion it was a very strong one. The production quality is very good and the main actors are doing a great job. They already have incredible chemistry. The story is also very interesting and very faithful to the novel. I don’t know, personally I’m very satisfied with the first episode overall.
I disagree. Aside from the bad dubbing, which personally I’m so used to it in most chinese shows that it doesn’t…
I’m glad you’re giving it another chance! After all, very few series manage to win us over from the very first episode. The same thing happened to me with Revenged Love, but thankfully I listened to a friend who told me to keep watching. Otherwise, I would have missed one of my favorite BLs!
I feel dissapointed after watching this. After China releasing Revenged Love, To My Shore, and Desire— I had…
I disagree. Aside from the bad dubbing, which personally I’m so used to it in most chinese shows that it doesn’t bother me anymore, I actually found the first episode pretty strong, and the main leads convinced me. They’ve also done a fairly faithful adaptation. I’m really looking forward to what comes next. I’d even say that I found the first two or three episodes of Revenged Love much more mediocre than what I watched here today.
He Chusan - "Chusan"

Try this, it's not great, though
