I mean, 20 year olds would be good, yes. But I'll be honest, the actors who played the characters did their jobs amazingly; and if you can't see that, that's honestly a you problem.

It was kind of obvious that Shane wasn't interested in Jonathan romantically from the start. Shane thought of Jonathan as a friend and nothing more-- him having sex with Jonathan was his attempt to keep Jonathan close as a friend instead of them distancing from each other. Whilst Jonathan had a major crush on Shane, Shane showed signs of being straight-- and being straight cannot be changed no matter how hard a gay guy tries; just like how a gay guy cannot be changed to being straight. Sexualities cannot be changed and that's completely good and normal.
Just because the translations might be a bit off doesn't make the drama/movie any less than if it were translated correctly. Sometimes the translations between languages can be quite difficult, so it's a given that that happens. Especially with Korean to English.
