It's typical low-effort modern kdrama writing. First 2 episodes were great and had potential. Then became a flat palace cooking show. Tyrannical deadly king had no good reason to change his ways except for his crush on this woman. Characterization is bad. Just so generic.

Been looking forward to this

It went downhill after the first two outstanding episodes imo. Totally generic boring palace cooking show with occasional glances from a formerly tyrant now whipped king. Also so overexposed post-production.

It was inspired by gone with the wind, and Scarlet o'hara behaves similarly. It's intentional

Huh? I don't even follow or care about Shen Yue and I never even mentioned her or said "I like her but the drama is boring" in this comment. In fact of her dramas I have only started three over the years, and not even finished them yet. Are you ok? The English titles are sometimes clunky or not always translated very well, it happens. Lame to brush off a drama bc of the title

He is much better here than in Crushology. Episode 2 you will see more of his acting skills, he does not only wear the same expression at all.

They are in the bickering-teasing phase and he doesn’t really mean it. But he does want her to cling to him. He was a tyrant king

ML is just pretending or teasing that he actually believes she's a ghost/gwinyeo, right? Especially by the end of ep. 2, he cannot genuinely still believe that? I think it's just become a pet name for her or something but just making sure

If I'm understanding correctly, she signed a 4 year contract but could not fulfill all of the brand endorsements because of falling ill, and so they are wanting her to reimburse them out of pocket for their losses from her missing those?
