i miss ruan and quishi. i can't let go of these characters. it's not enough that after watching the drama, reading the novel, watching 10000 edits everyday, i found another danmei with kinda similar plot and i still see nanzhu and quishi faces in some scenes.
does anyone know what happen if they just dont enter the doors?
it's not like they can escape it tho? the door comes for them whether they like it or not. if you're a newbie, you'll be sucked into the door without even knowing. if you're an experienced who simply decided to deny the door, i guess you'll just die like how you were supposed to before the doors came into the picture.

i also very much loved hikaru no go and i instantly started this upon seeing your comment! the theme is so cool and all and im fond of sports dramas sprinkled with bromance. however, after ep 2 i realized this wasn't bromance at all and i find the ml (zhangqi) quite dislikable plus an upcoming romance wit xiaohe is discouraging me to continue.
Hikaru No Go. The bromance is so intense here I don't consider it bromance at all but censored BL.
HNG is a youth drama tho just sports themed. I know some high school dramas with bromance but they aren't Chinese: Weak Hero, Racket Boys, Project S: Spike.

I gotta admit, your interpretation of the ending is the most complex one among other interpretations that I have read so far. It's so interesting and though I get the gist of it, I'm one of the majority who interpret it all was a coma dream. It's the most obvious and makes perfect sense to me, haha. After all, after being depressed over that bitter ending (no sweet), I don't care anymore right now knowing the novel ending. The only valid ending for Linlin and Nanzhu! Really wish they didn't have to insert the whole "game" plot as the original story was already fine with some twists and turns while still viewer-friendly.

May I ask a few questions, too? I never thought there was a second world until your explanation.

- Did the doors only exist inside the game? Can you only enter the doors if you're already inside the game? Then why was he sucked first into the door world not into the game first? So every character that we met in the main setting of the drama (2nd world), except Jiushi, are all NPCs as well (Zaozao, Mengyu, etc)? Or were their memories altered when they entered the doors that's why they had different lives inside? I really don't get why their lives are different outside the game if Lingling only purified the game.
before the last 3 eps i had anticipated their romance so much i felt that oohhh the butterflies in my tummy will go wild once their dating era begins but when it finally happened? i didn't feel even one mosquito. why was that? it's like wanting to sneeze but it didn't come out.

yeah the novel's main focus seems to be the plot about doors. as someone who only wants the mls romance, im struggling. let's keep going though! im sure the effort will be worth it! im getting my happy ending no matter what.
