because what you are pointing out, i would attribute it to the memories and muscle memory in her plus the JY's shard in her that raises head at some specific times (also Nuwa's task assignment and JY's figment in her body to monitor progress of task)
clearly, there is a catalyst even where Wyan and other good things in her overtake JY and othr bad influences for good.
and a much bigger mystery... does WYi also carry forward any speck of DZ's soul?

my theory is quite simple actually. Your thoughts govern who you are. When you are born, you inherit genetic identities. Over a period of time it is a recursive cycle of new thoughts emanating, reshaping your personality, thoughts, conscience... and cycle continues..as you grow you form your personality.
Which is what is happening with WYi. But her physical, spiritual, sould, emotions - everything is borrowed from others. The only thing that worked in her favour was that JY's soul figment mostly is inactive allowing WYi to develop more on lines of what her sisters used to be

You guys are simplifying it too much. She represents the goodness of all those sisters which is and has shaped her conscience DNA.. which will be so strong that it will enable her to fight that evil figment when it raises it heads
and most importanlty, fact that the figment was hardly ever active allowed the goodness of the sisters to take over her conscience
