Regarding Miles Wei you are right. But you are a year or so behind in catching up. He is past the CEO era. This was filmed last year June- August. He played a villain in Flourished Peony 1 and 2 and Love Beyond the Grave 2025 and 2026. All his upcoming works are historical. No fluffy romcoms anymore but he said he wont mind doing workplace adaptations with light romcom.
The board told Fu Mingyu to ground Ruan Sixian, but he said no. The shareholders were totally putting pressure on him. They want him to pick between his career and hers. If they don't break up, his company is gonna be a mess and no reforms can happen. FL knew he wouldn't want her to suffer, so he kept taking all that pressure from the board himself instead of grounding anything. She didn't want him in a tough spot and just wanted him to do what he needed to do (the reform) without worrying about her... that's actually why she broke up with him. Watch the episode carefully. She first goes on a date with him to the amusement park. At the end of the day even without her telling him anything he knew what was coming. Both knew! That's maturity and understanding. But I agree her words were very harsh!
It still works for two reasons. For her, the accusations of favoritism or nepotism due to her relationship with the CEO threaten her career credibility. This break-up allows her to stand entirely on her own professional merits during a critical time of rigorous final pilot assessments. For him, it is an opportunity to throw away the 20 year old corporate policies and make major reforms that suits the current requirements. Also to learn to support her dreams from a respectful distance rather than trying to manage or fix her problems.
And it forces both Fu and Ruan to confront what their lives look like without each other.
Once they have been through this, they reunite with clarity and without any lingering misunderstandings leading to a very happy ending.

That scene where Fu Mingy took a flight just to show the female lead the "sun rising in the west"by piloting a plane westward at a speed faster than the earth's rotation, thereby reversing the timeline of dusk, causing the sun to "rise" back up over the western horizon cracked me up 😂😂 Fu is very clever! No chance Ruan Sixian, you now have to keep your word and join Hengshi 😀

Looks good! I've actually read the novel and it's solid! I really wanted to see that major incident situation which FL averts whilst flying and they have shot it. I think they have shot the scene towards the end where actually the FL is flying a plane herself to catch the meteor shower for their wedding photos! It's indeed very dramatic and touching in the novel. Also Miles's character has a contrasting charm. He has his career struggles as well. What is shown at the beginning of the trailer actually has a context, the clips they've released so far are kinda missing some context but maybe the production team is trying to gatekeep the best parts for later. FL in the novel is not easy to please! She holds grudges and has a sharp tongue. Let's see how it unfolds 😆
We probably won't be seeing much of Miles in sweet idol dramas as he recently mentioned he wants to focus on serious genres and take on challenging roles which satisfy him as an actor. He just wrapped up an S+ costume drama as the male lead 😭
