But..., they aren't trans women? They are just guys who like other guys. Like, bro, is that hard to imagine?
Don't apologize. Adaptations are not automatically identical to the source material. I wish a lot of MDLers would accept that instead of entering each thread with "...BUT IN THE MANGA...!!!!"
The original was written before trans hysteria began in the West.
I love this comment. And I'm an American. Why can't they just be whatever they are without someone trying to slap a label on them already? They don't even know who/what they are yet. Let's watch the rest of the show.
The two of them finding a safe, open space to be who they are together up there is a beautiful thing. :D Everyone, gay and straight, falling for our hero(ine?) is cute and stupid but hilarious. :)
And the lipstick boys being hot for Mr. Thick & Hairy is adorable but also hilarious and strangely hot. The teacher/actor has a lot of charisma. :D
Bravo, Japan! The 24 minute episodes are annoying. I wish I could have held off til they had all aired.
Yeah I learned my lesson after Advanced Bravely. Ion fucc with Chinese BL, the only exception being Stay With…
Yeah, my little anti-Chinese content boycott is entirely for my own satisfaction. I have no fantasy that the dictator will notice my absence from the audience from bromances and lift the ban. lol
That said, I find the experience of watching these things unpleasant and frustrating. I spend the entire time in a state of wanting for something that is not going to be forthcoming, which is low-level anxiety-inducing. On another level, I feel insulted that the director/producers assume my willingness to play along with this absurd charade. And finally, the wink-and-nod factor of dancing around the gay feels childish and silly to me. Why participate when I can see content that acknowledges my humanity elsewhere, and in bulk?
Not only did Wang sabotage his class standing to get away from Tian in school, he is ALSO moving out of the dorm…
As far as additional forms to bitch about this show or any other, I'll pretty much keep to MDL. The world is full of homophobes who fancy themselves to be gay allies, so no amount of bitching will matter. These are mostly extremely immature, Western girls who imagine themselves to be gay-proggressive, but reveal themselves as REgressive in the love of BLs that do their utmost to keep the MC APART and suffering rather than together.
I love shows that take us through pain and struggle before in the end affirming the legitimacy of gay romance, but ridiculous crap like the last four episodes of TOO and the last two episodes of Happy of the End do just the opposite. TOO makes sure the lovers stay painfully separated, and HOTE allows them to reunite but in the most absurd, trope-ish way imaginable.
The Trans Representation Army is moving in to police the thread and must be resisted! :D

I just don't get it.
That said, thanks for putting your spoiler under a spoiler button.

Gag me.
If you're not afraid of sex and violence, go for it.
