Me too. And I'm constantly dragged by MDL commenters who say shit like, "It's just a BL, dude, chill." lol Standards are nonexistent for a lot of people here. I mentioned somewhere here that this feels more like a Thai show than a Korean one.
Love the graphics in the opening. But in Ep 2.......Why would a contract killer give his prisoner - someone the…
I love those graphics too.
There have been numerous things that don't make sense already in these two episodes, to the point I won't try to list them all, but... Why hasn't the yakuza in the basement been yelling and screaming, or throwing things around, so his friend will hear him? Those two scraping noises he made were lame. :) Why hasn't he needed to take a dump?
Episodes 1&2: Lord help us, why do Korean BL directors insist on casting hilariously young-looking actors for roles that require, you know, an ADULT? It's like watching a high school play. That little twink is no more a police detective than I am. And I'm not...a police detective, that is. Nor is the owner of the house some kind of yakuza. lol The ML seems plausible as an assassin, I suppose, though he's awfully softhearted for a ruthless killer.
Speaking of plausibles, there are way too many IMplausibles and plot holes in this story already to even begin to list them. For instance, the yakuza in the basement apparently has not yet felt the need to pee or poop.
Overall, this feels more like a Thai production than a Korean one.
Oh well, they're cute, so I'll keep watching. The ML's nose is hot, somehow. :)
Thanks for your review. I enjoyed reading it. I agree with every word, but am also happy to get your input on the room colors as psychological/emotional signifiers. That went right over my head, and I appreciate the deeper context.
I have been mocked here for feeling as you do, that this series had something to convey, other than soft core sex. Glad to know I'm not alone.
I'd like to see it remade with a bigger budget. :)
I agree with everything you wrote. However, Korea has been experiencing frequent celebrity suicides for nearly…
Oh Lord. Please learn to read English. I did not say anyone should stop attempting to change celebrity culture in Korea. However, I am not aware of anyone TRYING to change celebrity culture in Korea. There was a brief outcry after Lee Sun Kyun killed himself two years ago, then...crickets.
Also, I do not live in Korea. Thus, "we" are not searching for the cure for cancer or anything else there.
Agree, that actor playing the nephew is sweet!! Also never liked when ya surprise someone with a present, like…
Oh, you're right. I'd forgotten that Kuji told him where the tickets came from AFTER they were at the onsen. I think we're supposed to feel for Kuji that he is sort of socially stunted, that he doesn't do all this klutzy stuff out of cruelty, but that he simply does not know any better. But yes, how would a healthy adult not realize that where the tickets came from is something Azuma didn't need to know, that it would only hurt him. He's clueless.
It's sad to watch Azuma be wounded by these constant, little slights from Kuji. I guess it's too late now to hold out hope that he'll have the sense to dump the dude. Because, as I said earlier, those slights are going to continue until the day one of them dies. I guess Kuji's emotional development was stunted by his upbringing/parents, and that's just the way he is.
Which is why it continues to astound me, all the weirdos in comments here, raving about what a glorious relationship Kuji/Azuma have. I mean, I guess that's how they expect to be treated in their own relationships...? Perhaps we have a lot of emotionally stunted/codependent people here on MDL, and they think this is all just dandy.
Bingo. While I have found the hilariously bad sex scenes to be comical, the fact that they will act out blow jobs…
Japan is fascinating in that in many ways, it's culture is heavily repressive and conformity-driven. I can't imagine that sex is something that's ever discussed among the average family.
On the other hand, JP has a huge, thriving pornography industry that provides something for everyone, from straight to gay to bi to trans vanilla, to the most extreme forms of BDSM and any other kink you can imagine. And there are plenty of mainstream films that venture into semi-explicit sex and bizarre story lines. Then, there are the host bars, love hotels, prostitution industry, and assorted related services that thrive in JP.
No one cares what you declare to be not "adorable and cute."
Yoo Jinseok is something else. Very natural screen presence/charisma, and a great actor. Subtle and realistic. Bravo!
Sequel please!

I don't see a character or an actor named "Bebe."

All the sweet, realistic making out in this episode alone made every minute of this series worthwhile.
I am sad to let this one go...
9/10

However, I don't see that in the text of what you wrote.
Either way, you seem to be a psycho Killer Knetz, so, you know...kiss my a*s.

I strongly support this wild dichotomy! :D
