Do you not know the difference between satire/parody and "joking?" I guess not.
"Anyone wishing death or cancellation on them is just cruel, not “moral.”" Duh. As is anyone wishing death or cancellation on ANY celebrity, which Knetz do every single day with their ceaseless, online vulture act, along with their imitators, the Cnetz, Jnetz, and Whatsnetz, yes? And THAT is the point of my comment.
If you cannot discern from my wildly exaggerated, over-the-top language in the original comment that I am parodying and mocking Knetz who cancel and drive to suicide celebrities with depressing regularity, then I can't help you and don't care to try.
Excellent, exciting spy thriller, as only the Koreans can make. The losers below whinging that they were asked to think at times are idiots. Ignore them.
All three leads are tremendous in their roles. The action/fights/shooting is expertly choreographed and thrillingly performed. I didn't catch one false or slow move, and I watch for those. It continually amazes me, the time and effort actors put into making fighting and other action look so authentic/real. The spy plot is intriguing, but NOT hard to follow, as someone below alleged.
Naturally, this being MDL, an exceptional thriller is rated two full stars too low. This is a 9.5, not a 7.5.
I couldn't disagree more about Shin Sae Kyeong. I realize she has a whole legion of haters here on MDL (while…
You think she "maintained a pretty expression" when she was being tortured? Questioned by the SK spy? Watching the man she loves being shot and then dying? She "maintained a pretty expression" through all that, eh? Or, what about the multiple times she wept actual tears throughout the film? I think maybe you have issues with the actress and are stubborn in admitting oversights on your part, but that's just me.
I agree they could have elaborated teh ending a bit more, particularly the consequences on the North Korean side,…
Asian movies, especially Korean, have taught me over time that what's insulting to the audience is giving them every answer, every possible outcome, for all the characters, explained in detail, and presented wrapped in a big red bow at the end of every flick. That's not how life works, why should it always work that way in a movie?
How on Earth would the SK spy know how things wrapped up in North Korea after all of that, and how does it matter, anyway?
It sounds like you like this film as much as I do, so I'd appreciate if you could maybe help me out with a question…
Regarding whatever the NK spy whispered to the SK spy at the very end before he died. When the woman finally asked the SK spy what he had said, he claimed he said something like "Is there some way I can live? I want to live," and that was it...?
I'm like, wtf? That seems such an anticlimactic thing for someone who is dying to say to a stranger when the woman he loves and essentially died for is standing right there. Surely he would have made some request regarding the woman. But, it doesn't appear that he did. I find that really lame and from a plot perspective, exceedingly odd.
Finally, a movie where the plot moves because the villains are actually good at their jobs, not because the main…

That is an excellent point. I hadn't thought of that, but now that I think about it, that is one of the things I liked so much about it. I also liked that people you might not expect to get wasted, DO get wasted. I also like that not everyone drops dead in a split second, the instant they are shot. They last a while and even function after one or two shots, like in real life.
Consider the blocking a badge of honor, and an indicator that you are sane. :) That's what I do. Thanks for the friend request, and I'm happy to be your "favorite commenter." :D Imagine the legions of Church Girls who f**king hate me. hahaha

You are, indeed, Delulu.

Can you educate me?
