I love your version and will keep it. Naoki is one of my favorite characters of Kimura's ,it really hurt my feelings that the writer was such a sadist to give him that ending.

What made me mad is the writer didn't even give them a chance. I kept hoping that it was a mistake, maybe her mother got it wrong. I like the point you made about Naoki's father. I'm an old helpless romantic too. I was in total denial w/this ending. I had to google another page that had a recap to really let it set in

Naoki did die, I hated it. I don't understand why he had too. I get the siblings thing but I don't think he acted very despondent about it that it would really be that he couldn't work it out so he could be ok w/the situation as it stood. I do agree on the dna test thing too.
