Yeah, what you’re saying actually makes sense. they’ve reduced the Marquis’s ruthlessness on screen and mostly told us about it through dialogues (and very few scenes like the table breaking scene in front of Lord Li), instead of consistently showing it.
At the same time, I don’t think people are considering that the story needs to give more screen time to FCY so we can actually see her growth and how she earns her position as general. XZ is already established as a ruthless Marquis who can act decisively in seconds, so his arc doesn’t require the same buildup.
Because that balance is shifted, it can feel uneven but that seems more like a deliberate directorial choice than a flaw. Not sure if some viewers are just quick to point it out, or if they’re overlooking the different aspects the director is trying to handle.
What I like about this ep different from the book was how he was drugged. He was so sweet, then was lured by FCY…
I think it’s because it was her first time actually being on a battlefield. That initial hesitation felt natural like she needed a moment to take it all in before fully stepping into the fight.
While watching Legend of Female General, I could see that Zhou Ye put in a lot of effort and I really appreciated her performance. But, our girl FCY made it look so effortless and epic at the same time!!! 🐷

There is literally a war going on in the world , ZLH’s inside joke is not going to be the end of the world. And it’s not like Asians have never been racist, even toward their own people. Many people say harsh things about others to their friends when they dislike someone.
There’s no need to speak from a high moral ground here. If it truly bothers you, you can simply drop the drama and watch something else instead of explaining to everyone why.
You don’t have to artificially boost the ratings. The show is good, and viewers will naturally give it the ratings it deserves. There’s no need to do unnecessary things especially when people online already find the heat index unusually high, even though the show itself deserves the appreciation.
😭 I’m not able to function while waiting for the episodes to drop. I can’t even watch other series' I put on hold because of this. I seriously need another TXW and ZLH drama to help me cope.
