I just came to check out the series for my next watch, and I’m honestly pretty disappointed that everyone is just spoiling the drama in the comment section. Way to go, guys. There’s a spoiler tag on MDL for a reason.
These two were seriously so addicting to watch. Episodes 20–24 were SO emotional, and I honestly didn’t expect Sun Yuanzhu to make me break down like that, especially since we got so little screen time with the secondary characters.
Yet somehow, every single character had so much depth, and I loved how each actor portrayed them. I genuinely ended up liking all the characters and their own arcs. The ending was so lovely and honestly made all the rollercoaster of emotions they put me through completely worth it.
And I have to say, I loved Dog Luke the most. 🥹 He was such a sweetheart.
The relationship started with the understanding that because they're colleagues, they will not make it public.…
She is established in her career now and has no fear of being fired. She has evolved as a person with all her accomplishments and now just wants stability in life.
I know how that works but if we could list the things they did, we would clearly see how they both suck at it.…
Exactly. You can see what the director was trying to show there by having Sun Yu ask Shang ZhiTao whether she sees Luan Nian as her boss or her boyfriend. It really shows how much their work relationship affects their relationship.
then the problem must be the fl why did she leave such a nice guy, she should have gone with him if he is so good.
Honestly, I’m not defending Flora. She’s also wrong. Tbh, if someone constantly belittled her, called her stupid, and didn’t respect her or her intelligence, it’s understandable that she’d be unsure about the relationship and not open up easily. The occasional gestures and signs that he cares are just Breadcrumbing and don’t automatically give someone unconditional trust or make them feel secure enough to put their whole heart into the relationship. Both of them have issues.
The number of people defending Luan Nian just because Jing Boran is hot OMG 😭 I actually think both of them are grey characters and very real-life coded. They’re both wrong in different ways, and their relationship is honestly toxic, which is what makes it so interesting. But understanding where they’re coming from doesn’t mean we have to defend or justify their actions. Coz let's be honest, if your friend were in a relationship like this, you’d be telling her “girl, GET OUT” .

That’s not what I meant. I’m not saying her ex is the better guy or that she should’ve stayed with him. My point is that if Luke communicated like this and actually gave Flora the verbal reassurance she needs, a lot of their problems probably wouldn’t even happen in the first place. She’s clearly insecure about their relationship, and words of affirmation matter to her. Luke can show her he loves her in a hundred ways, but if he never actually says it or communicates his feelings properly then...🤷♀️
See how much her ex is complimenting her work accomplishments, acknowledging everything she’s been through, and actually communicating his thoughts on why things didn’t work out? Luke, it’s really not that difficult dude.
putting the blame on her? he isn't even talking about the incident when it happened. he is talking about post…
So he didn’t say that the recording wasn’t foolproof and that things could’ve gotten out of control, basically questioning why she took matters into her own hands? And somehow saying that to her isn’t putting any blame on her for going ahead with it? Okay then. We’re really bending over backwards to justify his reaction when he himself realised he was wrong and apologised later. The fact that he apologised doesn’t magically make everything he said in that moment any less wrong or okay.
I’m halfway through Ep. 17 and I seriously cannot deal with the way LN is berating SZT and handling this whole situation. He’s literally putting the blame on the victim, and I’m SO pissed. She has already been through so much, and I was already annoyed when he told her that she’s a pushover in the company and would be an easy target for harassment. But now seeing how he’s reacting to her taking matters into her own hands is making me even more angry. I’m honestly struggling to continue the episode at this point.
And honestly, they can just bring on the breakup at this point, because any woman would walk away after seeing this kind of behavior and reaction from the person she loves, especially after she’s been SA’ed.😠
Those who have read the novel,Do you think they are following the novel for the breakup part too? Cause everyone…
I haven't read the novel either, but with the way things are going, it really does look like they're both in love. Luke is giving so many hints that he's all in; what's with calling her his girlfriend and introducing her to his friends.
But one thing I can feel for sure is that no matter how much you show someone you're in love with them ; whether it's introducing them to your friends, buying them flowers, giving them your phone password, letting them stay at your place, or doing all these little things that show you're serious..until you actually make the relationship official, there will always be some insecurity, especially when the relationship started as something physical.
An FWB/situationship will always make the parties insecure to some extent, because they'll keep questioning whether all of this is actually because of love or because of the physical relationship. Until something serious like they're formally introduced to the parents as someone they genuinely love, it can still feel like they're just physical, no matter how much they do for each other.
And maybe that's why Flora has never used his bags. She might be worried that it would make everything feel transactional, like she's getting these things because of the physical relationship.
