I'm gay and I liked someone back in the day. When I watched this, I relate to myself with Kurosawa very much, his thoughts are exactly what I was thinking back in the day. Normally I don't say this stuff about me everywhere, even to myself but it is just interesting how a character similar to me this much. I even cried some scenes lmao.
