despite all the flaws, it was a really enjoyable series....my favourite, though he was around for a very short while, is teng mo's dad.....best dad ever 😍 his mom is sweet too 🥰actually, the best part about the series may have been that there were no "bad" characters....anyway....loved it while it lasted....hope to see the actors in a better produced drama.....and of course the ost 🫰🏽🫰🏽🫰🏽🫰🏽

maybe it is because she is mostly self-taught....she hasn't had the classical education at a young age which teaches us manners and stuff....remember she started studied after she was atleast 10-12(?) after being rescued....and fu zhi is her only positive influence who also has very less manners 😆😆

fu zhi is growing on me too.....in the early episodes she was super annoying but she has mellowed down after falling in love.....rooting for them...very cute couple....

i think the scene in which fu zhi asked her about the emperor was the key....she did really well in that scene....and i think her character does call for the restrain...remember why she struggled so much to become an official.....and she has been an exploited orphan her whole life so it is natural that trusting and expressing love does not come to her naturally.......and also their relationship is so complicated even without the palace rules....she needs him too achieve her goal....he needs her to do some really hard and sometimes dangerous work.....if they start indulging in love what will happen to all that? i think it is going great and maybe in the end her merits will win her a place next to him in a court-approved way....and that is what the emperor is aiming for her....because if he forces their love on the court those old foggies will make her life even more miserable than now....
