i wish mido wasn't written so immature. you can write a female lead who is struggling without the exaggerated crying scenes (there are very few, but man is it annoying). it's a shame because other than that i don't really have any complaints about her. i can somewhat understand her actions and i feel bad for her but that's about it.

now, moving on to namgung. his love for mido, while unrelenting, seems to be rooted in some kind of obligation which we'll likely find out about in the coming episodes; it would also make sense why mido feels so suffocated and why namgung himself is terrified to imagine a life without her. probably something along the lines of how his whole life has been spent in her orbit, so even the thought of separating is out of discussion for him— which is exactly where the problem lies. because he fails to realise that this is not really a problem that his efforts alone will solve. mido needs space, to figure herself out.

...which is also why namgung's proposal at the end of ep2.. sigh. big sigh. sir that's a recipe for disaster, what you both need at the moment is space😭 because the gap in how they view each other in the relationship is so wide it's not even funny. the affection is still there, no doubt, but mido feels suffocated and namgung does not even realise that he's exhausting himself by being the perpetual giver in the relationship.

both of them. need. space.

honestly, i don't think i'd mind if the show ended with them going their separate ways..

seongwon is giving the main characters a run for their money lol. why do i get the feeling that he'll kill himself in the end? in the sense that he views himself as superior to others, so he'd rather just end his life himself before letting people 'beneath' him drag him through the mud. or some twisted logic like that. but a more satisfying ending would be to see both him and his mother behind bars, hm..

speaking of the mother omg. seongwon being crazy is no news to us, but this woman knew her son was going about killing people and basically enabled it. crazy, both mom and son

For real !!! I've never doubted his versatility when it comes to switching between different kinds of roles, but theatre really did up his acting by so much, oh my god. I'm so glad he got cast as Yoo Seongwon, here's to hoping we see him back in main lead roles soon 🤞

The show won't go down this route so it's a pointless discussion, but it would be kind of interesting if it turned out Isoo accidentally killed Younghwan/killed him in self defense. Because then it brings up the debate of to what extent should the blame be on Isoo? His conscience remains clear because he would never truly kill someone, but the guilt of having killed will still stick to him..how is one even supposed to live with that? It could serve as yet another juxtaposition between Isoo and Seongwon: Isoo guilt-ridden over a murder he never intended to commit vs. Seongwon who has killed multiple people and has no qualms about doing so, thus once again dismantling the root belief of Seongwon's interest towards Isoo— that they are similar. When in truth they couldn't be more different.

It'd be a horrible thing for Isoo to go through and he's already been through enough (😭), but it would be a nice deviation from the usual cliche where they tease out the whole //did the mc kill him or not// plot point and all the while we just know it's a red herring because they wouldn't have the righteous protagonist actually commit murder.

That said, I'm glad we're finally getting to the main arc. YSW might just be the most unhinged villain the team has come across yet, like... he genuinely sees nothing wrong with his actions. The way he flips between his 'innocent' side and psychopathic self is creepy as hell.

the last four eps better be about the case with yoo seong won (and perhaps his mother by extension?) or i'm going to lose my mind because of how they've just been teasing at the serial killer case and not actually delving into it

i was skeptical about the cast change at first, but jung eunchae as joo hyera is awesome. i love how cool and badass she is🙏 also can't wait for yoo seung ho's character to appear!

really looking forward to his appearance in flex x cop 2! i hope we get to see him in a lead role soon.

nah, no matter how much i think about it, i hate the writers' decision to have haran be so cruel to chan throughout ep11. i'll still watch the last episode because i want to see chan be happy even if only for a bit (bc clearly that's all they will give us), but the writers really did chan dirty in the second half of the show. he didn't deserve that (or how they poorly they dealt with the arc with his father). manjae and genius are the ones that saved ep11 for me amidst all the attacks aimed at wholly breaking chan down. i wish they'd given us more of the father-son dynamic between him and chan.

took the words right out of my mouth. if anything i was GLAD he left at the end of ep11. like. he didn't deserve all those hurtful words

finally someone said it. her woe is me attitude throughout the episode made it impossible to feel bad for her. people can say it was a valid crashout, which fine she is allowed to feel betrayed, but she could've at least heard him out after cooling down if she trusted chan in the slightest. feeling betrayed and angry and still caring for the other person are two things that can coexist but no, let's have her cruelly shut down every attempt that chan makes at communicating because she's so blinded by her own hurt that she willingly assumes the worst of chan. the only shred of care/concern she shows is at the end of the ep, which...ugh.

and now that chan seemingly disappeared from her life— just like she asked him to— i'm supposed to feel sorry for her? like what did she expect? she was the one who shut him out every time he tried to talk so why am i supposed to feel bad for her what.

one, this drama needed 14 episodes minimum.two, sunwoo chan might just be the most pitiful character i've watched jonghyeop play because omg. my heart continues to break for him— as it has been right from the first episode. like this guy's whole life is just one big trauma conga line

yes! it would have made for such an interesting arc if they actually SHOWED us —through tiny flashbacks or glimpses— how he went from his past self to his current self, especially considering he had no support system throughout his life (unlike haran who had her family). and he still doesn't really have much of that. even if he does, he is prone to hiding his hurt out of concern for those around him. it would have made for a compelling arc to watch him slowly learn to be vulnerable with the people who care for him.

but the drama focused so much on haran overcoming her pain that it kind of overlooked the other characters' "winters" so to speak—especially chan's, considering he is the male lead. let's see what they do in the last two eps, but i have my hopes pretty low tbh

i noticed that too! i don't think his bubbly personality was completely a coping mechanism, but a big chunk of it definitely seemed to be. especially his insistence (and obsession almost?) that he is okay and will 'make everything okay'... there has to be something behind that. and the lonely vibe from him too yes. i'd be disappointed if the drama didn't delve into it, even if in the last couple of episodes, because they hinted it to be a significant part of his character arc.
