'fake kang hyeokchan' wow that hurt. it's natural that she's angry but the hurt that flashed through in chan's eyes at these words absolutely broke my heart. i feel horrible for him
That's what I was thinking as well. He never really had any kind of support system (unlike Haran, who still had her grandmother and sisters to keep her going), so it makes sense that he'd would suppress his trauma as much as possible in order to stay afloat, just like his psychiatrist said.
didn't like the ending. or to un-sugarcoat it, hated it. wasn't the whole point of deuk pal doing all that he did so that he could help yiheon live a better, decent life when he returned to his body? i wanted to see him return; after living a life of such torment, i wanted him to have a second chance at life- one that would be much kinder to him. he was so, so tired because of all the suffering and isolation, to the point he tried to kill himself; it's unfair that that's all he gets to experience from the little life he had. the process of him adjusting to the changes that deuk pal had created for him-while we wouldn't get that onscreen, i at least want to imagine what that would've been like. it would have been a tough but very much plausible road of healing, but the ending robs us (and yiheon) of any possibilities of that. i don't like that.
:( liked the drama (despite the censoring, which btw, would've elevated this drama so much more) but the ending leaves a really, really bitter aftertaste... wish they hadn't gone that route
here for jang dong yoon! his character's description makes me wonder if yoo-chan will be hospitalized at some point too (for example the ML in its okay that's love). but he's listed as the second ML so i guess they won't be focusing on him as much..? he's such a good actor tho, i hope the drama and his character does him justice. that said, i'm looking forward to this.
it dragged in between but picked back up in episodes 23-24... qipa's anger is valid, but i just feel so, so bad for kui mulang😭😭😭 It's just like liu jun said---kui mulang is clumsy in the way he does things, but he has always been sincere about his reasons behind them, he never actively wishes harm on anyone and really was just trying his best to serve his clan AND be considerate of qi pa's feelings at the same time😭 but the way he went about it was wrong.. and now he is the one who is hurt by his own actions the most... AND he is dying, to boot. talk about a pitiful character i just want to hug him and protect him from getting hurt anymore damn it

It's not like he has many options though, he's just been dealt a hand that sucks in all ways- he can't listen to Qipa's request of sending her home even if he wanted to, because he needs her for his clan; Qipa's trust in him already weakened as Li Xiong so he can't bring himself to tell the truth because then she'll think he's just using her, which as we all know is not true in the slightest (plus we saw how hurt she was when she found out that li xiong wasn't who she thought he was. now just imagine her reaction when he finds out that LX was KML all along? yeah, it's NOT going to be pretty. which makes all the more reason for KML to come clean about it, but his fears are not completely unfounded, he is scared of hurting her more than he already has. unfortunately, it will probably make things worse in the long run. AHH i feel bad for him, man ). And i think he tried to tell her, in episode 16? But got interrupted bc of the assassin.
Then we have Qipa's situation. I do think she's starting to grow fond of the place in general, because of her monologue that she needs to get away before she starts getting attached to them.
Oh I'm starting to understand why Kui Mulang is so endearing even though he does some questionable stuff, it's because he is quick to admit that he's in the wrong. He knows that what he's doing to Qipa is not fair, but he also cares a lot for her and genuinely doesn't want to hurt her, and feels guilty when he does, and wants to make things up to her.
These traits make him feel real and not just a character who is there to be strung along by the tropes
