it’s funny because the fans of the latter guy is extremely threatened by Linghe. There’s this one account on twitter that is under every Linghe tweet posting negative stuff. idgi! They’re in completely diff career paths. That guy doesn’t have a single hit costume drama.. he can only do modern dramas.

LOL anytime a new drama is a hit, the main actor will be compared to Linghe. Like the currently airing modern drama ML keeps buying bot comments comparing him to Linghe. Idgi Linghe barely even acts in modern dramas (I wish he did!). They should go compare to SWL or YY.. those two always star in modern dramas

the last time he walked with cast members was in 2023 for SOKP. he has always kept to himself at awardshows since then. it's not going to be any different this time. he doesn't like promoting CPs.

I saw a ranking of cdrama actors/actresses IG engagement and Linghe is on top. It's pretty incredible how much popularity he gained from POJ internationally because usually modern dramas are more popular with ifans. The other actors with high engagement like ZYR, CZY, LY etc all got popular for modern dramas. Even Dylan is more known internationally for the Hana Yori Dango remake.

It's the complete opposite domestically because in China, traffic actors usually come from historical dramas, namely Xian Xia. Pretty much every traffic star blew up because of Xian Xia dramas.

I just found it amusing to see HY so high up on the list of IG engagement because he isn't really popular domestically. I guess he got popular with ifans because of that drama with Esther?

this wasn't a big budget drama at all lmao it received hype because of the attractive leads and routers that went viral and that was all. This drama filmed for only 90 days entirely at Hengdian. The source novel isn't famous and the director isn't particulary a-list either.

Actual big budget are the S+ ones. This is a normal S budget drama.

It was reviewed bombed EVERYWHERE. All that hate over an AI opening sequence was stupid. On the first day, the entire hot search ranking was full of negative keywords.

I'll bring a comparison, the currently airing modern drama has a lot of AI incorporated in their drama too yet I have not seen a single negative post about it.

Overdo has its cons but I have never seen a drama get attacked like that on the first day.

my god I just don't understand how someone as lowkey as Linghe gets stuck with so many delusional shippers because he does not remotely encourage them. Other male celebs have variety shows, magazine shoots, walks the red carpet with their FLs so I get why they'd have shippers but Linghe does none of that.

honestly everytime I search Linghe's name on social media and see shippers fighting, it makes me LOL linghe really does not interact much with his co-stars so idek what they're fighting over. he's not really close to any of them outside work. he attends drama promos like scheduled and then once the drama finishes airing, he pretty much never interacts with any of his co-stars again. the female celeb he is closest to is the married Jing Jing.

This series got negative review bombed. A lot of criticisms it got shows up in other dramas too but never had negativity magnified like this. Also, a lot of its haters are the shippers of another drama Linghe was in earlier this year. Funny enough, these shippers only criticize Linghe's dramas and co-stars.

It does happen if schedules can't match. Eg TJC appeared for Dancing with the Tide's script reading virtually because he was in another city filming.

WHY only has a cameo role in this drama. The fact he even showed up to script reading is weird to ngl but I think they are filming his scenes first so maybe that's why.

Zhou Ye is not a traffic star tbh. Amongst traffic stars, there's a lot of rumors about DLRB & Arthur Chen dating but so far it's just words and there's no proof.

tbh won't happen anytime soon. I don't know how chinese celebs do it but it's very rare for their top celebs to be caught dating. I think amongst the top traffic stars, only RJL is known to be in a relationship. Everyone else is all speculations.

honestly I think it's stupid to bury his project. fans are too emotional. it doesn't do him any good. fans can try and shift the blame to the company but do you think others would accept that? no, the blame will be on linghe soley.

Nah that leaked character description is fake. A reliable melon account on weibo clarified this.

So what I read from melon accounts is that filming starts mid-Sept and they will film the Mongolia scenes first (tbh I didn't read the novel so idky they need to travel to Mongolia lol) for around 2 weeks. So countdown to filming is less than 2 weeks! I think C-walnuts are no longer protesting since clearly nothing's gonna change. I'm excited to see Linghe's new outfit *__* CiTang costume design will be done by Fang Si Zhe, who he worked with for SOKP. I always liked how flowy Xie Wei's outfits were

nah it's basically confirmed. she would've denied it already if she wasn't in it. what I've read is that filming starts Sept 12 and they will begin filming in Inner Mongolia and that part of the script doesn't have FL. She'll join the cast in October.

tbh I don't mind him not working on big IP because sometimes those are double edged swords (look at all the backlash Empress Reborn is getting from book fans) but I really wish he could work with better directors. Movies/shows are a director's medium. A good director can elevate an average script.

as for the new director for CT, I actually don't mind him. Yes, he is behind the hilariously bad Only For Love but tbh he also directed A Dream within a Dream and One and Only which were both great. imo Only For Love was the fault of the production team too. Guo Hu is still a lot better than Yi Jun. Yi Jun does not have a single hit drama under his belt lol I always thought it was weird he was being handed a S+ drama without even seeing Overdo's result.

But it's sad that Guo Hu is like considered a good director for Linghe lol because we're so used to Linghe working with rookie directors.
