I miss the main leads interactions so much - what happened to the wonderful communication between the leads that…
tbh GQF has hesitated several times to disclose stuff about his work or personal life with ZPE but they usually get over the misunderstanding in the same episode. I kind of wish the same happened here but looks like this plot will drag for a few episodes. It just feels like a plot device to separate the leads because the director mentioned that all the characters will go back to how they were like in the beginning so for ZPE, she lost her tea shop in the storm and also lost her love.
lord the plot I was hoping they'd avoid is here u__u I don't like how they wrote ML in these two episodes. they've always been very open with their communication and now he's suddenly just going to hide from her? I get he found out the truth about her father but still.. this is ooc
I really like the following scenes:-when they were bickering on the boat when they were had barely met. I can…
yes the boat scene from ep 5 is my second favorite! I love how you can tell when these two started liking the other without any dialogue indicating it. That's good acting.
what are your guys fav Pan Er/Qian Fan moments so far? My absolute fav is the scene from episode 6 from the time she runs to him and they walk between this curtain thing up to the the court yard moment under the umbrella. That was the first time I felt intense sexual chemistry from them. Qian Fan's stare in that scene was so intense and prodding and you could feel Pan Er dodging his glances. That scene was so well filmed. It's kind of funny how after they started dating, Qian Fan turned into a puppy lol
Pan Er is such a good female lead the more I think about it. She's limited by the period setting but she is so independent and strong willed and ugh I just like her character so much. The scene in ep 25 where she saves GQF was amazing like she just took charge. It's kind of funny that GQF's dad was reduced to the character that sobs and doesn't know what to do.
If this drama gets the same treatment as legend of Hao Lan, I would be so dissapointed. The way some of you would…
honestly, MDL ratings are pointless because all it takes is a large fanbase to get high ratings. that's why all the dramas with traffic stars always have high ratings even when they're terrible.
Same same same question over and over, why is Pan'er expected to know how much Yinzhang is in love with Qianfan…
"When Chenxiao did that kick on Zhoushe I laughed so hard bc it looked sooo funny"
lmao samee the stance and the slow mo, I couldn't take it seriously. they always give him some lowkey funny scenes that are supposed to be impressive but end up being funny because of the way it was filmed. same with the fish scene in ep 23
their reasoning for not telling Yinzhang was that she can't keep a secret but then they openly kissed in public…
tbh it's never really clear if GQF knows YZ likes him. I think he kind of has a gest when he sends her away from the bday banquet because she was giving him weird expressions and he seemed kind of uncomfortable lol
I think Sanniang & Pan Er treat her too much like a child and she also does behave like a spoiled child. I feel like we'll get some kind of reconciliation in the next episodes because I remember Pan Er said in eps 26 that YZ should be treated as a grown up now.
I'm here again still thinking about the events of episodes 25/26. All the time I was wondering and I couldn't…
their reasoning for not telling Yinzhang was that she can't keep a secret but then they openly kissed in public so idek lol I think it was just the writer's way to get Yinzhang to go to Shen after feeling "betrayed". tbh I'm not really fond of how this part was written. I feel like they could've gotten Yinzhang to side with Shen in another way.
So their acting in the Condor Heroes drama was not good? I haven't seen any condor heroes drama at all.
the 2006 version was visually nice and LYF is visually perfect as Xiao Long Nu although her acting was still pretty wooden at the time. Her male lead, Huang Xiaoming tho.. was doing his best cave man impression idky. I never watched the 2014 version with CX but most people mock it because the female lead (who he ended up marrying in real life lmao) was a complete miscast.
yeah definitely. as with anything popular it will get its fair share of criticism too and people who think it's…
yeah it's still holding up but I can see it falling even more with the wave of 1 stars antis are rating. imo that's what's ridiculous about this whole thing. regardless of how much you don't like this drama.. rating it 1 star makes no sense whatsoever.
I feel like a lot of criticism the drama gets is because it opened to high ratings. 8.3 on douban is almost unheard of these days for these kind of romance historical dramas. I did notice the general mood on weibo was a lot nicer before the douban score opened and then when it was, a lot of people started calling this drama overrated and nit picking every aspect that they normally wouldn't do with other dramas. imo this drama has its faults, mostly in its writing, but its strengths far outweigh those weaknesses.
on an aside, I lowkey like sunniang and du teacher guy's loveline. the scene in episode 25 (or 26) where they chat while she' s on a boat is so well filmed. honestly, just for the directing alone, I'd rate this drama a 8/10. I love all the long camera takes the director does, or how she leaves in background sounds like birds chirping or the bustling streets. It's what elevates the scenes to feel real.
also lmao the king is lowkey kind of hot.

for anyone that can understand mandarin, this is a veryyy good breakdown of the flower bridge kiss and Pan Er's reaction.
