better story-wise, worst characters-wise. it is a lot more about the game and competition, which is very fun, but you can miss characters development cuz there's basically none. its very long too, 1500+ chapters. but I loved it

the writer mixed up a lot of the novel's plot. it was supposed to have the challenge first, then the main national competition within the main league and main teams. they messed it up. but if you ignore it and the ridiculous way glory won, its a good drama

yang yang was criticized when this one came out and with other dramas too. but the things that happened with fireworks of my heart are far from being fair. I hope he can just keep on improving

I saw director zhang li's recent disaster and remembered this. one of my most hated dramas because of how bad it is. actors choice, production, cgi, soundtrack, directing... I was so hyped at the time because of the director's good name lol

when I found out the main cast was supposed to be 13-ish, everything made sense to me. like, whose idea was to have grown ups acting like kids 😭

people nowadays never get it, but xiaonai, the dedicated, rich, nice and handsome hubby, was a breath of fresh air in 2016~2020-ish. it took so long for heathy and cute romances to be common in the asian drama world, xiaonai was all that we had for a long time. if you watch it with this in mind, maybe you'll understand all the hype

the movie is just the same story but veeery condensed, I remember it ended and I was like uh? is that all? lol it lacks a lot, the series is better

I didn't read the book but I always heard that the drama was very faithful? I'm surprised by your comment. And its said the movie is even worse as an adaptation, and I thought it was very lacking story and pacewise, so I'd encourage you to just pretend there are no adaptions 😅

for new watchers: this is not the perfect couple story. leads are hurt people trying to move on and grow up. if you love flawed and complex characters, and to overanalyze them, you'll love this drama. if you can't stand annoying characters, maybe you'll have a hard time with it. it's usually a love or hate for this one hehehe

She was in WOH? lol I don't remember
But she's basically plain. Her expressions are right but she lacks attitude. Its like she's empty inside and doesnt have any personality. Even when she's being herself, its like she's not there

But to be fair, I think the same of Gong Jun in WOH, and Tan Jianci got on my nerves here in LMLMV.

it wasnt terrible, but definitely not good. the villains acting gave on my nerves, specially their english and acting. some of the script was super cringe too
