You had me at crazy

Funny story that is indeed crazy and lovely. The comedy doesn't get distastefully out of hand either, as long as you are aware of the general plot and direction. I like the twist on the fake marriage storyline. And I appreciate the commitment to the bit(s). Nothing to criticize, a good and exciting kdrama to watch, especially if you're in a slump like I was.

Interesting plot(s) but the actresses stole the show!

Another one of those mystery/thriller k-dramas to binge, kind of like A Killer Paradox. Ordinary gets involved with crime and has to dodge the consequences somehow. In that sense, maybe this drama could be boring or generic. The vacation home setting was a fun concept. I liked the multiple perspectives. Though it was confusing for almost the majority of the 8 episodes, I'd say the payoff for when things start making sense was pretty satisfying. The wrap up wasn't my favorite but it didn't offend me.

But the 3 significant females roles were so captivating, definitely the best parts were when they were on screen front and center, so for that I'd recommend watching it. You'll be so impressed with the level of energy and control they put into their characters. Additionally, I loved that they were capable and active characters with significance rather than plot devices. I'll praise them again and say that they were the most memorable aspect for me to take away from the series, because other than that the drama could feel tedious or repetitive given the plot(s). Maybe it just wasn't my thing though, I wasn't into A Killer Paradox or The Glory or Little Women so much for the plot either. And I'd say The Frog reminds me of those series.

No chemistry, homophobic, racist, stereotypes, stupidly convoluted, ugly, bland

Synopsis: Kang Na Eon the icy girl boss and eco-friendly activist So Eun Ho are total opposites hiding their own secrets that are bigger than you'd expect. Kang Na Eon is almost murdered but before she has a chance to get back on her feet and investigate, she has a body swap with So Eun Ho who also seems to be investigating something.

The thriller element (which is half of the story) wasn't so bad but it meshed terribly with the other elements (ex. romance) making the mystery and thrill stupidly convoluted and difficult to stay captivated, the high stakes moments became boring before long. The payoff at the end was nonexistent, unsatisfying, and insulting to the viewers. The drama likes to spotlight various topics regarding issues of the marginalized and the minorities, but only a few of the stories were actually done decently with the rest falling very flat and being outright cringe inducing.

Positives out of the way, I will specify more about the poor attitude the drama takes towards the OTHER marginalized issues and topics. There were several stereotypical portrayals in this drama. From predatory gay man, to phone-addict and naive Gen Z in the workplace, to foolish environmentalist and activist, and typical mockery of India and Africa, all disguised as amusing comedy. All of this had offensive visuals too. The FL's makeup was supposed to portray a strong-willed and independent girl boss using red tones, but why did it look like an allergic reaction? And did her outfits really need to follow the red theme as well? From head to toe, her whole look was tacky. If she's going to be bold, I would think she would wear a more balanced makeup look at the very least, her makeup looked unfinished and did not match her character. The environmentalist had a matching corny and contradicting look too, I felt so bad for both the leading actors.

Lastly, the characters' chemistry was awful. I don't just mean the lead actors either, the whole cast as a team was difficult to believe in. The subplots suffered along with the main romance plot between the leads whose attraction is extremely unnatural. It was a long and difficult drama to sit through but at the same everything felt rushed or added in last minute.

Only the first episode is good, the rest is mid (derogatory)

The first episode has a TON of rewatch value. It has such a different sensation from the rest of the drama that you'd think it was from another series. The child actors played their challenging roles extremely well with so much heart. In comparison, the rest of the drama has an unserious attitude coupled with a weighty plot making it unenjoyable and difficult to finish. The younger versions of everyone also had 1000x better chemistry/synergy than the main cast had. Mok Ha's circumstances weren't acknowledged properly by the story, I know the other characters got their own problems too but selfless FL surrounded by selfish people (the idol industry ppl ESPECIALLY including her bias) will always be extremely unentertaining and unoriginal. The worst of the supporting characters got more screen time than the actually supportive supporting characters. The adult leads' chemistry lacked charm but at least the mystery wrapped up decently. 5 stars because the first episode was THAT good. It carried. AGAIN, the first episode was amazingly fresh with the rest of the series being uncreative to say the least.

The gold standard for K-DRAMA

The vibes and visuals are immaculate. The feeling of fantasy and enchantment is top-notch. The OST is immersive. The chemistry develops nicely. Heartwarming and touching beyond the main leads, supporting characters had personality. A+ comedic timing.

LMH's best look in my opinion and one of the more interesting ML roles he's played. He's a "rich" boy scamming people and always running away from the authorities. The naive but quick learner mermaid falls in love with him who is sheltered by this weak and traumatized persona of his. All takes place in stunning settings. -0.5 for the overused clichés in the last episodes that added nothing, probably just to stretch run time. Perhaps this was when 18/20 eps dramas started to become 16 eps.

Must watch!

An interesting depiction of the progressions in distancing relationships

I felt very queasy and anxious watching this, mirroring the tone and mood of the movie. There is a sense of mystery coupled with foreboding that keeps you enticed the same way you can't look away at a car crash on the freeway. The story's message comes around full circle so I want to acknowledge the effort on that. I suggest watching this movie blindly with no expectations.

A CLASSIC HS POOR GIRL CHAEBOL BOY KOREAN DRAMA THAT HITS ALL THE MARKS

It's a DRAMA with so much DRAMA and clichés but it does everything right. I was entertained and I was heartbroken and I swooned and I laughed and I sang and I remembered everyone at the end of it all. In a setting that could only happen in a Korean drama, there was so much heart and emotion in the storytelling and acting despite the predictable plot. Of course, people are put off the overused dynamics of the typical rich and mean kids bullying the poor girl shtick or the 1st world problems that only heirs and heiresses can understand, but I advise you to not take the circumstances seriously (laugh at them!) to enjoy this series. Instead look at the characters' hearts, their stories of love and their personal relationships, then you'll be thoroughly entertained. All the characters have a story that is revealed at a perfect discretion, keeping the viewer hooked.

I also want to spotlight the first episodes that take place in magical California, a fantasy-like place and a breath of fresh air for the poor FL to visit. The theme of living a dream carries through to the last episode giving it a perfect end in my humble opinion.

Lastly, the OST is unmatched and the lyrics captivate the essence of the characters and drama so very well.

A healing drama ruined by too many clichés

I was excited to see PSH and PHS act together in a medical drama too about burnout, but I was dissatisfied, disappointed, and unentertained. Overall, the drama had a slow story and pace that matched the MC's wish to take a break and refresh and her unsteady mental health. But it got boring often and was a bit of a chore to finish this. Side couple was a bit more interesting than the main couple though, shoutout to the single parents. The romance-couple moments were very cliché which was sad to see in a progressive story about directly confronting burnout and depression. I just feel like the cliché events could have taken a different and more realistic route. Comedy was a bit forced. It was a fine story but rather uneventful and unmemorable besides the two top-actor leads. ML's story wasn't spotlighted equally either so it felt rushed. It was kinda weird to see some of the guys in the drama wearing high school uniforms too.
