Yeah, the novel was quite mediocre and Shang Zhitao's inner conflict was quite not really well-written (it really like usual Female Lead in Duanju since most of the stories come from Tomato Novel like this). If they say FL is morally grey they are wrong since she is doing nothing when Luan Nian angry about how he was not the first to know her sexual assault, i will said she is really NPC didn't react to anything and the break up didnt show any emotion or impact. Shang Zhitao emotion are really not show well in this drama and it really worse than novel. It was nothing to do with reg flag-green flag things, both scriptwriter and the actress are failed to show emotion. The good thing in the novel is Shang Zhitao career arc , while on drama Shang Zhitao career arc are quite unrealistic since i had worked at advertisement company. Luan Nian is just usual jerk CEO even they toned down in this drama.

For love of hypnosis, they are quite too strict with fantasy drama since it requires superpower.

i quite like unusual story so i am okay with it. doubt love of hypnosis will be released since NRTA was quite strict (surprisingly they are quite lenient with The Early Springs).

i didn't watch the movie one so it was not him in the drama (I am sorry, i only remember yang yang for love o2o and that awkward kiss lol). yeah i only watched us and them for Jing Boran romance drama/movies, Will try to watch Sunset secrets regrets.

I often watched his movies and he is leaned into fantasy and crime drama (one with Luhan and the Monster Hunt series) and the only romance drama i watched from him is Us and Them.

Jing Boran rarely do romance drama and he is only two of Chinese long drama actor who can pulled CEO role without being pretentious (the other one is Wei Zheming). Sun Qian is the closest Shang Zhitao for me even there is some description didn't fit but she is from Harbin and dress plainly. The plot is good to watch, hope it doesn't jinx in the end of drama.

i know most of audience prefer perfect healthy love story but overdo shows how complex the main lead mental issue were and no one in Overdo is good and sane person. If you look plot summary it just classic soap opera trop but it shows sometimes life plan doesn't perfect and people never like draining drama.

Personally i would like Qingyi and Susu to have BE (prefer to make Qingyi die or get amnesia or something) since their love language was completely different

Probably yes since iQiyi want to imply AI to long drama (short drama was dominated with AI since March this year so they will practiced in long drama) and Tencent will be copying their competitor strategy. I noticed there is no scriptwriter in this drama just the original creator who allowed to use character name for the drama.

Okay Liu Haocun in non-romance drama were unbeatable for her generation and she is one of actress that i respect for dedicating to learn Qin Qiang Opera for year. It's having a brief asadora feeling with lesser episode and this drama should nominated for Magnolia next year.

Okay i quite liked Road of Success and should i said Esther Yu should take more serious role like this. Her voice was quite pleasant to hear unlike the haters stated. Chen Jingke is quite manly and delivered as always. For me, personally the romance in this drama is like sprinkle of the cupcake. The best parts are the boys backstory are quite interesting and how woman are being targeted after being rejected by man. One of best modern drama in 2026.

Have watched 3 episode and should i said the production and editing is biggest flaws in this dramas . The background music were quite questionable. This drama is prototype of AI usage since short drama almost dominated than live action. The drama failure was 90% director fault not the actors. Plot was quite fast paced and interesting for republican drama. Both of actor are tremendously improve from my previous drama that i watch even i feel they are more suited for cameradie than romantic CP.

Yeah if you like slice of life drama, you should watch the love story in 1970s and i quite like how Sun Qian choose the script, she is not typical typecast actress.

I quite like Sun Qian raw acting (her 1970s drama with Arthur Chen is hidden gem) but the Wei Da Xun acting was still not convincing for tragic drama (I still not found Chinese long drama actor who good at tragic drama so it's my own problem). If i rate solely for Sun Qian only i will give 10 for her only (+antagonist)
