I agree this show is mindblowing. So good. One of my favorite. One of the reasons for low score could be because of claims of Cultural appropriation and plagiarism from Chinese Wuxia films. Chinese netizens claimed that “Alchemy of Souls” copied the Chinese drama “Ever Night". It is argued that in terms of costume, character setting and plot, the Korean derivative is highly similar with "Ever Night", The Untamed and Ashes of Love, which netizens attached comparison photos and accused the drama of plagiarism.

The pacing is absolutely perfect. There is not a single dull moment. Every single scene from the beginning to end of the episode completely grabs and holds your attention.
