JE is literally a walking red flag from the get go. The moment he asserted himself in NB’s space at the bar…
Honestly if JE wasn’t played by SK & was played by a less attractive-unconventional-non mainstream actor, no one would give two sh*t about JE or JE&NB pairing and would straight out call them toxic but nope, two pretty people just HAVE to be together because of lOoooVE, blah blah blah.
Never touching anything this screen writer writes in the future, even with a ten foot pole. Good riddance. Like I said before, the romance genre is truly a dead genre in kdramaland :/.
Well the consensus of people who enjoyed this drama were ‘championing’ it as “mature, original, & realistic”…
Yeah like toxic relationship exist but I was was referring to your comment about how this is just a ‘drama’ when people who liked the drama saying how it’s realistic lol. The writing feels all too cliche in my opinion.
I loved this show. why? because its a drama. Listen, if I wanted something realistic, I will just videotape my…
Well the consensus of people who enjoyed this drama were ‘championing’ it as “mature, original, & realistic” and SO different from other kdramas when it is NOT lol.
I don't know why is everyone calling Jae Eon as full of red flags when he isn't really that bad/ worst? did you…
JE is literally a walking red flag from the get go. The moment he asserted himself in NB’s space at the bar while ALREADY knowing that she was in a vulnerable uncomfortable state because he saw how she was displayed at the art exhibit from her ex-shit boyfriend. He was already a serial womanizer & exuded toxic traits to wrap NB in his clutch. He could have introduced himself like a regular person would at the bar in the ep 1 but nope, he touched her without even knowing her, acting as if he was there to see someone else. Just because he isn’t beating the shit out of her doesn’t make him not toxic. Toxic people can show good traits. Toxic relationship can be subtle & people don’t truly know when they are in one or when their partner is like that.
Honestly, JE can be complete garbage on paper & onscreen. The only sensible option was for NB to live & work on herself. My issue is viewers will watch this drama and think “wow, this is so romantic or this is love. Let love love” blah blah blah…Like I get it, it’s not show writers to teach people about what’s toxic or not but there are young impressionable people out there. This drama literally romanticizes toxic relationships having it all adorned in aesthetic & prettiness with pretty actors & shallow-worms for brain-dialogue.
I don’t need this to be some creme de la creme of romance. Just decently written, good character development with a dash of great back & forth energy/interaction between the leads where they actually talk to each other like people & not cardboards staring at each other. Is it to hard to ask for?! Lol, …..please :(. Romance in kdramas have been just so damn bad the past I don’t know 5-10 yrs lol. Heck probably forever. Ugh.
Don’t know why screenwriters always take some sort of shit stained liberty with the original source material & make a nonsensical drama version of it. I was planning to continue it but I’m glad I didn’t. Not like I had high expectation for this drama. This drama is not unique or realistic. It draws the same bullsh*t cliche “bad boy changes because of girl-love” trope & girl’s “whole existence” revolves around some toxic guy, just without the overt assertiveness & physical aggressiveness, wrapped & sugarcoated in pretty aesthetic & cafe music. It’s so lame lazy shallow cardboard writing with cardboard characters.
The romance genre in kdrama-land truly is a dead genre. I hope Hometown ChaChaCha don’t disappoint :/.
There’s no need to call people/comments stupid, that’s totally uncalled for. Like this is a fictional tv SHOW…
People have diff opinions. Where are the rude ones? I have yet to spot any stupid or rudeness in this comment sections from anyone. Calling someone stupid or disgusting is rude. People don’t have to & not like a character if they simply don’t like a character or stuff that happens in the show, sheesh.
There’s no need to call people/comments stupid, that’s totally uncalled for. Like this is a fictional tv SHOW not a real life documentary lol. Ya’ll are projecting personal experiences into this drama waaayyy too much. Chill.
Why are most K-Drama screenwriters so bad at writing "good boys"? It's like once they get the assignment of writing…
Yes, I’ve seen the typical ‘nice guy’ or ML doing nice things without any personality in dramas. Not only are they written to be innocently perfect or lack flaws, their whole personality or arc revolves around or waiting for the girl to leave the ‘bad boy’ & nothing else. Sometimes they also come off as clingy & entitled because they feel like they deserve the girl since they are ‘sweet’ & nice when they are just overbearing. It is so annoying. You can most definitely write a ‘nice guy’ ML/male character with emotional depth & nuance who isn’t a sticking plaster to the FL & can exist outside of the FL’s circle as his own being.
100% true! I think it's only because he is so handsome that he is cast in sooo many dramas, but his acting is…
A director can definitely elevate SK’s acting if they really work with him. Sometimes the director can either break or make the actor. The thing is SK tends to play characters who are emotionally stunted but his portrayal seems so & so. I liked him in Naverilla & Sweet Home but those roles don’t require dramatic performances. I do think he cries well though. Acting classes & coaching would be good for him. But then again I feel like casting directors hire SK for his visual-appearance since he’s marketable in that department.
Song kang’s acting during the climax fight scene was terrible, he ruined 9 episodes worth of build up with his…
I always said that his acting is pretty wooden in terms of his line delivery. It is not good. His veteran costar told him about getting some acting & vocalization coaching to pronounce words better. Not sure if he’s taking any since then lol.
At this point, I’m assuming people just like JE because of Song Kang. SK is lucky he’s cute because if it…
I seen those comments lol. Heck, if his character didn’t get the girl in Love Alarm ( a drama I did not watch) then maybe there’s a reason lol. JE def should not be with NB either.
Sometimes people just need to be alone & stay single sheesh.
I haven’t read the webtoon but did it play out this way too?
Wow, honestly the straightforwardness in the webtoon writing would have made the drama much more exciting to watch lol. The drama really did not need to be 10 ep.

JE & DH aren’t entitled to NB. I hope she drops JE like a can of spoiled worms.
