Viewers tend to look at dramas from a romantic lense the moment it has some romance in it but the lead is not a romance drama. Yes, it does touch on Qin E’s romantic relationships (whether it be good or bad/if you like it or not) It doesn’t matter who she ends up with or not or if there’s a happy ending. The story is about Laidi/Qin E’s life, her struggles, her triumphs, and her experiences & qinqiang opera. If you’re expecting a happy romantic ending, this drama is not for you. Please don’t rate this drama low because it won’t have a happy ending. Please keep an open mind when watching until the end!

Yeah her parents are definitely the root of her pain since she was a kid but now as an adult, as a famous qinqiang opera lead star, it has its negative side too (overwhelming fame & jealous colleagues, annoying tabloids, lack of rest etc) so I’m not suprised if she ends up leaving it behind since opera was something she never wanted to do as a kid (even though she grew to love it along the way)
