Outside Forces

Its clear forces outside themselves are pulling Hae Kyung and Do Hee together even if they aren’t aware of it, yet. All hell is about to break loose one they realize they already know each other, well of each other. As great as HK and DH are together, I find myself enjoying their connections with their friends Byung Jin and Ah Young a lot. All four have a great relationship with one another, each in their way that makes it so much fun to watch. No doubt HK was relieved to see DH make the dinner meeting. His smile belied his excuses. The lobby scene was hilarious, and when she said, “don’t covet someone else’s rice bowl,” I about died. I cannot even imagine how things will go when they find out about each other. And, of course, as they start to settle in their lives, their pasts come crawling back. I genuinely dislike Noh Eul, how arrogant of her to think that she can just show up, and HK would drop everything and run to her. It’s crazy how so much alike Jae Hyuk and Noh Eul are; insane, really. On the other hand, HK and DH seem to be destined to be together. I love it.

Hospital Playlist

Hospital Playlist has given me many memorable moments, and today’s stands to be the most haunting, not in a bad way but in that sad, nostalgic, poignant way. It’s one of the hardest not only because it’s the last but because of the many moments in it. I appreciated the pregnant woman who lost her baby to the liver patient who got a renewed license to life to the stent patient, and most of all, the love confessions, old and new (answered and unanswered). They were all precious instances that will remain with me for a while to come. This drama has made me laugh, cry, and cringe, but most of all, it’s made me relish the relationships in my life. Other than the stories, the best parts have been the friendship that, despite the busy schedules Ik Jun, Jung won, Jun wan, Song Hwa, and Suk Hyung consistently made time for each other. I loved how comfortable they always were with one another, even when they disagreed. I am going to miss them, and the band practices most of all. I’ve had many takeaways from this drama. Still, the most important is that friendship is a choice, and more than any romantic relationship, I adored the deliberate choice of friendship every time. I do want to say though that if Jung won hadn’t decided to stay and be with Gyeo Wool, I would have died. See you all next season.

Playlist for Life

This drama is like a playlist for life, food for the soul. I truly felt for Suk Hyung with his father and Nurse Su Bin with her daughter but things always happen for a reason. I am a true believer of that. People change and, or we lose them so that we can learn to let go, things go wrong so that we appreciate them when they’re right, and most times good things fall apart so better things can fall together. Ik Jun trying to eavesdrop on Jun wan on the phone was hilarious. I love Jun wan for easing Ik sun’s mind on long-distance dating because in true love the smallest distance is too great, and the most significant distance can be bridged. One can tell the depth of relationship in the gift he gets her -- wireless ear pods -- beyond romantic. It clearly showed how much he appreciated their similarities while respecting their differences. My heart melted into pieces for Dr. Ah; he has no chance with Song Hwa and he knows it.Jun Wan and Song Hwa’s eating was hysterical. I love all of them so much. The scene with Jung Won talking to the director about leaving, scared me as it seems he decided to stay his course; I hurt for Gyeo Wul and his mom but seeing the way Jung won was looking at GL, I completely get Mama Rosa. If there is a chance in a million that she can do something, anything, to keep him from leaving, I say pry the door open or, if need be, wedge your foot in that door and keep it open, Mama. I swear all the relationships in this show are so valuable -- some reasons make relationships precious, but only precious relationships are made with no reason; those are the ones that should be kept alive for a lifetime -- Song Hwa. I knew Ik Jun's confession would shake Song Hwa's world I didn’t expect she would run from it though, understandably so. I wonder what happens to them now. So mi reminded us that in this time of need and because of our doctors and nurses, we live in a happier, healthier world, thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

confessions

This was the episode of confessions. The writer was so wrong to make us think Song Hwa and Dr. Ah were out on a date but I forgive. Ik Jun and son were the epitomai of sweetness when the son went “mother in law and wife” I about died. Jung Won’s drawer of rosaries looked pretty serious, and I was not surprised to know that Jung Won was the kind soul that paid those patients bills that didn’t have money to pay their own bills. And only he would think about passing on the torch before leaving. My heart is filled with him. I couldn’t stop laughing at the Gyu-wool situation when the doctors got carried away when they saw the rose bouquet, but Jun Won’s reaction to the potential proposal made me think he may have feelings for her, but one thing is for sure Gyu-wool is nowhere over Jung won. Dr. Chun is my least favorite person in this drama. He belittles his patients and their families and has nothing but contempt towards others. I understood Je Hak’s reluctance of him and trust in Jun Wan as a doctor and a leader.Jung won, and Ik Jun’s little chat gave me hope I was relieved to know that Jun won does indeed have feelings for Gyu-wool. I hope he listens to Ik Jun’s advice and follows his heart; God will certainly understand and appreciate it. I love Ik Jun for helping Gyu-wool make Jun won realize his feelings for her even the band practice was a revelation of love, now all he has to do is take the step. Jun wan and Ik Jun jealous for their own respective reasons were adorable, but seeing Jun wan hurt to finding out Ik Joon got accepted to the study abroad program from someone else hurt me. I’ve been wondering about Suk Hyung and Min Ha, and was totally surprised she confessed, he looked so in shock. I commend her for taking the first step – I love the women in this drama for taking matters in their own hands. Also, did Ik Jun just confess to Song Hwa; I think he did. I cannot wait to see where things for them. I knew Suk Hyung’s mom was not going to go through with the divorce and I understand her reasons.

Passing Judgements

It’s easy to pass judgment when you are not directly affected by any given situation. Most times it’s not what a parent does for their children, but what they taught them to do for themselves, that shapes them. I seriously admire JY for his ability to tolerate DK knowing how much she hates him and his mom. Self-absorption kills empathy, let alone compassion. I really cannot stand DK and her family any more, their time will come.I guess it was only natural that Sun Woo’s personal life spills into her professional as everything crumbles for her DK revels in her wins. But I am grateful for Chairman Choi’s wife the one person not fooled by DK’s facade and lets her know it. One should always be careful what they wish for, lest it comes true, and is more than they bargained for, and winning doesn’t always mean being first. I was glad to see JY getting the help he so desperately needs, but I couldn’t help thinking about Sun Woo, how could he not think of her. And as good as it was to know, I must admit I was disappointed that doctor love, MS, and the Director were the ones more concerned for Sun Woo than those closest to her. I mean, even DK kept a tab on her even if for her own reasons and rightfully so as she knew she may have won the fight but definitely not the battle.Sun Woo, all alone, lost and in despair, broke me to pieces. To see her lose her value as a mother and a person blinded with thoughts of loneliness and emptiness made her so very human. We all go through hard times in life. It’s a part of being alive, and it’s the reality we all have to deal with, but along with the path of darkness, there’s always light waiting to be seen. It may be hiding behind those everyday encounters, be it in a friend or a family member or even an ex-husband. I truly felt her despair in the most emotional of ways. I will admit it was hard for me to watch the nonsense that is DK or her family after Sun Woo’s scenes. The moment I felt a sliver of empathy towards Tae Oh, I regretted it and I was reminded by his actions why so. I have always thought him a coward, but today he proved himself a shitty father and human being. The whole time DK kept messing with JY I thought she should leave well alone and not mess with someone else’s child to protect her own insecurities as that was a battle she lost before she even started. Despite seeing her despair I knew mama Sun Woo would be back fiercer than before, and it was satisfyingly good to have her back guns blazing.

Pumped

I love Jang Nara, but I’m pumped for Go Joon, I loved him in Misty but enjoyed him even more in Fiery Priest and cannot wait to see this new side of him in Oh My Baby! That said, I love how Jang Ha Ri (Nara) considers every man to be a sperm donor – I laughed so hard at the opener. I commend her for knowing what she wants and going for it and the writer for tackling such a controversial issue in a society that equates having a baby with marriage. Omg, I already love everybody, especially Nara’s mom, she’s a riot. Han Yi Sang (Go Joon); Yoon Jae Young (Park Byung Eun, I must admit I never thought of him as sexy before); and Choi Kang Eu (Jung Gun Joo, not familiar with him at all) are all so damn hot it’s a treat to have them all in one drama. I love their respective roles and the history they bring with it and think this is going to be a gem of a show. I believe my Wednesdays and Thursdays just got an uplift.

Five Stars

I need a tall drink; this episode was just too much to handle. I will not lie I am happy to see an end to Hyun Seo’s demented ex-boyfriend but was he pushed, or did he commit suicide, now that is the question. If I was to guess, I’d say he committed suicide, but it seems everybody else, DK, her parents, doctor love, Hyun Seo, think Tae Oh killed him. Ironically, Sun Woo maybe the only one to think otherwise, but Tae Oh believes she may have. Dead or alive Park In Gyu continues to wreak havoc in everybody’s life. Tae Oh was free to make any choice he wanted, but he made the choices that he did, and must now bear the consequences. DK’s whining annoys the heck out of me, but at the same time, I am glad she lives such a tortured life. Neither her, her husband nor her family deserves to live in peace.I wish Sun Woo would sever all ties with that devil Myung Sook; she is not to be trusted and deserves how the director is treating her. Yi Rem seems the character that’s developed the most. I am impressed and surprised by her swift actions with the divorce. I applaud her for that and for standing up for those vultures that call themselves women. For the very first time, I was completely and utterly proud of the son for standing up for his mom and putting his father in his place. He brought tears to my eyes. I was also thoroughly touched by Sun Woo’s reaction to Yi Rem’s divorce news, despite their differences, she understands the hefty price of divorce. The Chairman must think he is the only father to love his child. The only one willing to do whatever it takes for his daughter’s happiness. I find him repulsive. Luckily Sun Woo has doctor love to protect her; he is probably the only person in that pit of a town looking out for her. I understand Hyun Seo taking matters in her own hands, but I wish she had trusted Sun Woo. She has always been by her side. The way I see it, the Chairman will probably be the cause of his precious daughter’s unhappiness. I am really interested to see Sun Woo gets over this new hurdle, the poor lady hasn't had a moment's peace since Tae Oh came back to town.

Wow

I know I say this with each episode, but this is the best episode to date. I must admit I had a tough time watching this episode not because it was a hard watch, but because I was overwhelmed with the raw emotions of it. If I ever doubted Sun Woo’s character, not that I did, I would say what she did today was beyond extraordinary. The best guide to a person’s real character is how they treat those who mean them harm, and how they treat those who can’t fight back. As much as I detest Tae Oh, no one, not even him, deserves to be abandoned in their time of need by those closet to them. That his wife and her father didn’t understand the impact their inaction would have on the daughter/granddaughter was crushing – I felt my soul slowly lose all hope. As for Hyun Seo, she should have trusted Sun Woo, she's never failed her but I do agree with her Sun Woo needs to free herself. Can one even imagine what drives a child or even an adult to bully; I cannot. I do, however, think bullying is not a reflection of the victim’s character, but rather a sign of the bully’s lack of character. The bully is only reflecting on his mom’s character, and those who stand around and do nothing are not any better. Sun Woo’s son must be bipolar, he’s mood swings are quite disturbing, he’s like a balloon filled to the max, waiting to explode and his parents and the people around him are the triggers. The depth of lowness some can reach goes beyond imagination. DK using a child to gain favor with her husband and push Sun Woo out of town was not just low; it was repugnant. If I hated her before, I now loathe her and her disgusting family. That said, people are a culmination of their choices, and until a person can sincerely and honestly say they are how they are because of the choices they made, they can never choose differently -- can love really turn this destructive; I guess from the deepest desires often come the deadliest hate.

Finger-bitting

This show is shockers piled upon shockers, with new battle lines drawn by the episode. Every time I think nothing can top the past episodes, I find I couldn’t be more wrong as we are jolted with a finger-biting ‘love’ (if we can even call it that) scene that will be the talk of kdramaland for a long time to come. Sun Woo decides to leave Gosan, but nothing ever seems to go her way. Today’s episode was all about poor JY as he comes unhinged, sinking lower than ever possible his self-regarding parents are forced to finally turn their attention to the broken mess they’ve made of their blameless son. And to top it off his and their unpleasant secret(s) are revealed further confusing and alienating them all. It was hard to watch Sun Woo broken and ultimately defeated not even when she learned of her husband’s infidelity did she break the way her son broke her. What was hardest to watch was to see those vultures, with DK being the worst of them, gaining the upper hand on her, and getting her on her knees. It was so painful I had tears in my eyes. Tae Oh sinks lower every episode to the point where it’s just his head sticking out of the ground -- to let Sun Woo be humiliated after what she did for him, what a bastard -- unforgivable. Finding out that JY saw his divorced parents going at it explains his subsequent behavior, anger, and confusion. I have no clue where things go from here but cannot help and wonder if DK is finally getting what she's always wanted – Sun Woo out of town.

happy hour

This is my happy hour -- Jung Won is such a soft and touching heart. I love his approach to everything, be it as a doctor, a friend, a son, or a fellow human being. I feel for Gyeo Wool, boy does she have stiff competition in the Lord, but I must say I didn’t see Dr. Bae coming at all. And for the first time, I realized Min Ha might have competition for Suk Hyung’s attention as well – I think I am going to enjoy watching how things develop if at all. I go back and forth on this, but I really, really like Dr. Ah, and hope Song Hwa falls for him; but I also love Ik-Joon, he deserves to be happy -- I am so conflicted (Sigh). My Jun Wan and Lee Ik Soon are so cute together. I am so jealous. He has fallen hard and it’s just a matter of time before his secret is out. The car scene was so much fun and such a close call I was sure he was caught. My heart broke for Suk Hyung for his saga with his dad, but I love that he has the friends he can rely on for comfort and advice. But let me say I loved what his mom did and said to the father – he deserved it and more – him and that good for nothing woman – how disgusting of them. I was like, yes, do not divorce him. He doesn’t deserve to live a happy life. The patient with the cheating husband’s liver also broke my heart, but Ik-Joon's kind words mended mine and hers to the fullest – I love him. I wondered if Gyeo Wool would give up on Jung Won with all the competition, but I must say I am totally impressed with her for asking him out – I am rooting for her. And as expected Do Je Hak was scammed big time. I cannot wait to see what happens next with all the pieces we've been given. I am 100% invested.Few things have such a huge impact on happiness and the enjoyment, depth, and plain fun of life as the friendships we have. It could be the friendships with our partners, family members, co-workers, and the people we have known for a few years or since we were kids. Or even with people, we have never even met at the other side of the world, like this forum. I love this show!

amidst the chaos, happy moments

Todays' episode weighed me down a bit be it in Jung Won's rejection of Gyeo Wool (I didn't realize I was holding my breath until he rejected her, I was hurt) -- or Jun Wan losing his little patient (my heart broke for his parents) -- to Min Ha feeling unappreciated and slighted -- to Je Hak losing his life savings. It just felt like one hit after the other. But even in its somber moments, it inspires. It was especially refreshing to see that even when the residents were having a hard time, thinking they were alone in their plight their bosses were providing support and care behind the scenes. It's one thing to be a boss, and another thing to be a mentor. But it's an entirely different thing to be a leader and one that gives credit when credit is due -- a mark of a true leader. But even amidst the chaos, we had our happy moments. I am excited to see Jun Wan's love life progressing beautifully – they are perfect for each other, and Ik Jun having a successful patient outcome (his cancer patient). I was even glad that Min Ha set up Gyeo Wool on a date, she needs to move on, but at the same time, I want Jung Won to realize he is making a mistake giving up on Gyeo Wool. I think he just may, he surely didn't look too happy to see her with another man, so; my ship may still sail. I sincerely hope all goes well with Yang Suk Hyung's mom. This drama makes me realize it's not what I have in my life, but who I have in my life that counts.

Despicable

For me, this is the best drama of all the ones I am watching right now. I cannot for the life of me understand cheating, and I don't care what or why; there is no excuse for it whatsoever. Not only is this husband a cheater but he is a thief. I understand Sun Woo's stance and the measures she is taking; she wants to be his "choice," pick her. I also cannot fault her for still being in love, but he's not worthy at all, which makes watching her, make the choices she's making that much harder. My heart breaks for her. I cannot stand the husband; I can't stand hearing him talk, not only is he a cheat, but a coward and a liar. He's been living a double life for quite some time and using his wife to fund it. Despicable.OMG.. that neighborhood, they all creep me out, I don't like any of them. I think the mistress's parents know about the two of them. But the worst was his mom, I couldn't believe that lady had the nerve to tell Sun Woo to forgive him, why; because he's her son, but not only that; she had the nerve to blame her for her son's pathetic life, seriously, how shameless. As precious as her son is to her, so is Sun Woo to her parents, like come on. Even her son disappointed me, I understand him not wanting his parents to divorce but how about his mom, how could he not think of her?. From my perspective, I cannot see how a spouse can move on from cheating; forgive, forget, and continue living as if nothing happened -- once trust is broken, can it be healed? The hardest part for me is having to put up with the husband; if I feel this way, I can only imagine how Sun Woo feels.

Intense

This drama is all kinds of intense. I've been waiting hours for this episode to be subbed and it was worth it. Sun Woo is a beast, and she wasn't playing when she said she would do whatever it takes to keep her son, house, and life. I do not condone revenge cheating, but her sleeping with Son Je Hyuk was not for revenge but part of a strategy to secure her husband's personal and business finances, and it works. I was right in thinking the son knew about his dad's affair, I ache for him, finding out the way he did but also makes him trying to guilt his mom into staying with a cheating husband that much worse. But now Sun Woo has the proof and the finances. I can only imagine that things are about to get pretty chaotic and explosive from here on out. And I am enjoying this ride.

Amazing

Another amazing yet dark, dark episode for sure; the lengths Sun-Woo goes to ensure she keeps her son and guarantee a divorce is crazily admirable, and as hard as it was to watch the abuse scenes, I found her scenes with her son even harder. That he couldn’t see beyond his own needs was a bit heartbreaking -- the way he attacked and criticized her parenting, saying she never had time for him, unlike his sainted father was a bit much. He made it sound like Sun Woo may well have brought a lot of what was happening on herself -- which is furthest from the truth. She was wronged and I wish he had stood by her. I was in pain for her, but at the same time, I understood that she was willing to do whatever it took to keep what was her, and for that, she earned my respect.I do understand the son as well; all he wants is a happy secure family -- his life back as it was. Sadly it will never be like that ever again. I cannot, however, begin to describe my feelings towards the husband -- what a waste of a human being if he is even that. To chose to be with a woman who asked if not demanded that he give up his son tells me they deserve each other. She can keep him, and if she thinks she won, she has something else coming for sure. We have not seen the end to the craziness, and I have a feeling what’s to come is worse. The saddest part, however, is the impact this couple’s twisted and obsessive hatred for each other will have on their son.

In Awe

I am in awe of this drama. Sun Woo is explosive every time, even in her subtle ways. I like that she doesn’t hold back, and as much as Da Kyung might not want to believe her; she knows as the day is light Sun Woo tells the truth. The son, though, I have tried to understand him, but he continues to be so very angry, it's like he hates himself more than anyone else. He is ok with his father having a completely new life but doesn’t want his mom to have one; his destructive behavior towards his mother and at school is bound to catch up with him sooner or later. A storm is coming that none of them will be able to escape if he's not helped. Tae Oh’s problem is that he thinks he is smarter than Sun Woo. Whatever deal Sun Woo makes with the Director reinforces her as she strikes first at Tae Oh and Myung Soo’s plans, rendering any move obsolete at least for the time being. I would really prefer it if Myung Soo was fired. I want her gone, I really cannot stomach her anymore. When one plays with fire, they should expect to get burned. Selfish Tae Oh plays with fire, and it turns against him, threatening to engulf the son he says he so desperately wants back but sadly it also endangers everybody else as well. I desperately, desperately feel for Hyun Seo, she’s back right where she left two years ago. Everything is so twisted and I believe the seed of doubt was probably already there for Da Kyung, even before Sun Woo or Ye Rim said anything. But now it’s here to stay, and every now and then will continue to send out a little root that painstakingly changes everything, making the life she stole to be with Tae Oh a living hell. And, of course, in that pit of snake town, no one is to be trusted, and I mean no one, not even doctor love. I am completely mesmerized by the careful writing, direction, and acting of this uniquely extravagant, drama that just drags you in and keeps you transfixed.
