I dunno.. I found myself watch this drama with a lot of skip. And also 2x faster. Is all good until after ep 20, story giving me boring and end up not enjoying. Trying so hard to finished.
It's been a long time since I was spoiled by photographic cinema that provides a mellow romance yet deep breathtaking atmosphere. Really, it's giving me goosebumps and hook me emotionally. So far I have been spoiled by cool photograph, with a cool modern vibe, for example, dramas of elite rich people. Or also full CGI for historical drama. Its good, but it turns out that the nuances of a drama like The First Frost are also good and open my eyes.
I'm not someone who cries easily but Wen Yifan's POV story never fails to make me cry. for a second I hated her character who hurt Sangyan unilaterally. But in the next second I understood why she was like that. The emotions of a teenager, where her position is really very bad and suffers physically and mental. And the only thing beside her was Sangyan. if it were me, of course I would act impulsively. instead of holding sangyan, I would make him move away from me. maybe with the reason to reduce my burden, even though the emotions that Sangyan gave to Yifan were good. I don't know. It's just my opinion. And it's been a long time since I reviewed a drama like this. My eyes are still swollen from Yifan's traumatic episode. But I'm not complaining for this painful moment to be rushed. I'm looking forward to their happy moments, in the right time. Good job The First Frost!:)
I watched with no expectation and I was surprised by how good the story was! Just yesterday I watched eps 1 and right now I had finished watching all the episodes. The plot, the main character and even the side are so fitting. I can't describe it but something I'm looking for in the history of chinese drama, is in this drama. I hope I find a drama like this again in other dramas.
