Seriously on all the thai bl I've watched, none of them made sense, but weirdly when it's a toxic relationship…
Like you said, we have different criterias which are all valid, and tbh I'd rather see more comments like this, than people screaming at each other because they don't agree. That's actually why it was annoying to me to read the comments at first.
Seing you list all of those plot holes really made me realize that I might be so used to incoherent stories, that I just stopped caring so much. I think as long as I don't feel lost in the story and I can still feel smth towards the story, I don't actually mind. When I think about it, I actually watch for the general vibe. And it's funny bc even though I say that, I still notice a lot of nonsense details, that don't really matter anyway (like that time Kinn and Porsche managed to undress fully while being cuffed ??)
Also it's funny because I didn't think NLMG took itself that seriously, idk why. But in the end I get your point anyway.
Now I just hope they won't end it on some traumatizing bad ending.

Yes, I think there's a way to portray bad behaviors, so that's why I personally focus more on the moral and psychologic parts than the acting part (and I agree that it doesn't always end up making sense)
I'm still new to the Thai BL dramas so I have very few options to compare them to each other, but for NLMG I was mainly thinking of KinnPorsche for some reason. Like, to me, KP's story didn't make sense either, and there were bad behaviors that passed as "romance", but in the end people still thought it was amazing (from what I've seen).... probably bc of good acting and production. So that's why I was so surprised by the reactions to NLMG.
As for murder, that's smth else, I haven't seen He's Coming to Me, but apparently in every country and their dramas, murder can be forgiven with words 😅...

In this comment I was talking about toxic actions, not relationships, but what I was trying to say is : because the production is great and the actors are great , doesn't mean a scenario is acceptable. I understand realistic relationships that are not perfect, but imo when smth bad happens I prefer when it's adressed. If they're trying to glamourize wrong behaviors, and make it pretty just because the actors are good then it's a no for me.
Like the other person said, we all have different expectations with dramas, and those are mine that's all.

I've lost the track here (so I'm replying there bc I found your reply interesting) but honestly as a long Kdrama fan, I just started Thai BLs this year and I can see how the scenarios don't work a lot of the time, but in my own opinion I'd rather have plot holes, mid good acting and a basic MLs relationship, rather than good production but with toxic actions turned romantic... and I have 2 "popular" titles in mind
I completely agree that every one has different expectations, but tbh now I mainly read BL comments on IG or Tiktok, so my point was just that the MDL comment section didn't pass the same vibe 😅 I think the BL world still has to work on a lot of things tbh, and to me NLMG is a good example that it's improving so I was genuinely surprised at the reactions
wow comments here are really smth else.... 2023 might be the year I stop reading comments lol
Seriously on all the thai bl I've watched, none of them made sense, but weirdly when it's a toxic relationship ppl love it, and when it's not, it's boring ? -_-
Idk if it's because I was too tired, but I couldn't watch more than 20 minutes on the first episode. I might wait for at least first half of the series to be released to come and check if it's really worth it 🙈
I found some things were a bit too far fetched, and some scenario bits were a bit nonsense but in the end it was just a small part so I thought it was funny. The romance plot itself was nice (I mean very dramatic sometimes but I did get chills at some points)... and I really fell in love with that ML duo too
I'm actually glad to see Eunwoo in this role, no romance in sight, just playing a badass exorcist lol Also I'm glad it's a short drama, I really had 0 expectations but I feel like being short is a good idea + the fact that it's season 1 tells me they're going to end it with a big cliffhanger... so hopefully season 2 isn't far 😅
I think it's nice to watch tbh, I get the ratings, but it's not bad really ...even though until the end I just didn't understand that Doyoung guy 😅 I get he's aspiring to debut in the fashion world but idk his attitude is really disturbing to me (the almost "harrassing Jieun" part at the beginning... I just think he was not a necessary character or he should have been a bit different idk
However, Seonho everybody, she is the best character of this show fr, she's just wow (and considering it's her first acting role, even if I guess this character was "easy" but I think she played it perfectly)
I was waiting to watch the last 4 episodes, so I was lowkey looking for more sweet and cute moments, but I guess they prefered to make us cry until the end 🥲 I'm glad they stayed strong and supported each other though, but those last episodes were emotionally exhausting lol. Obviously the last person she sends away had to be important but I wished it wasn't her dad tbh, even though no one else could have made this that dramatic.
Also I really liked the story behind her "power", I didn't care about the explanation and it was rushed imo but still nice.
I think the story had potential and I liked the MLs but the story was so confusing, I felt like there were many untold informations and the short format didn't help, especially when flashbacks take half of the episode lol. Also, with all the respect to the artist, wtf is that main song ?
I actually completely forgot that I watched season 1 last year, but then I saw that there was a season 2 and I somehow ended up watching both seasons at once.... At first I saw a comment saying season 2 was bad so I didn't know what to expect, but gosh in my opinion season 2 is 10 times better ! I get that the mood is different, but I feel like season 2 conveyed so much more emotions + I'm actually fond of the ML's acting
Now I know they always put the best part at the end, but honestly when I saw only less than 2 minutes left I lowkey gave up.... but then everything happened so fast 🫣
