Disappointing.
I guess I had high expectations for this series, the original Cherry Magic is one of my favorites. The first few episodes aren't bad, and I had hope. Sadly, I was disappointed. The acting was not terrible, but not great. The acting and plot was just a little exaggerated and cheesy. There seemed to be a lot of filler plots and scenes. Like what was the random "no office dating" drama thrown in? It got dismissed almost immediately and served no real purpose. Or the employees of the new branch running away to play soccer, what did that sub plot do? Nothing I can think of.They took away the asexual character and made a third pair that was not needed. I actually think that was what made me the most frustrated. I loved that in the original. And I hoped all the way until the end that maybe Pai would say to Rock that she just wasn't interested in another relationship. But no. Also, the whole last episode seemed very rushed, suddenly we're at a wedding? Honestly, the more I think about it, the less I like it.

A moral dilemma drama
This is a show about two people with strong values, trying to do the right thing. If you're reading this review before watching, just know that it's a very good show, that happens to have two men with feelings for each other. The focus on romance is just one aspect, not really the focus. It's quite serious, though there's small moments of humor and happiness, which I believe add more dimension. Without the moments of peace and joy, the characters would have been very flat. It is on the slow side, but I didn't find the pacing to drag. Eight episodes was perfect, imo. It told the story without any unnecessary side plots. If you're in the mood for something to make you think, give Spare Me Your Mercy a try.Was this review helpful to you?
Just dumb.
I have to drop this. I tried so hard to like it, but urg. Teerak is such an idiot. He just stands around and blinks. He tried to hold hands like arm wrestling. Literally holding hands is something little kids do, it's not a learned skill. He was about to stab some cabbage. Has he never even seen anyone hold a knife before? I get that some shows are over the top, but it's too much for me.Was this review helpful to you?
