Exactly. That's how her character was intentionally set up. Wan Xing is supposed to be detached at first. The writers did a great job of leading her to the point where she realized she could no longer remain just a bystander. That realization became the foundation of her character development.
That coin toss gave me literal goosebumps. The moment Wan Xing revealed she got heads (meaning she was supposed to leave) but admitted she cheated because she couldn't let go of that tiny bit of reluctance she had inside her, made me bawl my eyes out. My brave brave girl 🥹 Thank you for not giving up.
One thing I really admire about this drama is how they flesh out the characters. First, it was Fu Xin Shu and now we're in Qin Ao's arc. His story is truly heartbreaking. It's so painful when no one believes in you, not even your own family.
