From what I’ve read the drama is moving faster + Lu xixiao isn’t a playboy anymore, he also doesn’t smoke or drink as in the novel. Also the leads are older everything they’re going through now happened when they were still in high school — at least the most recent stuff. ie, her grandma passing happened when she was 16 not 18.

I saw a spoiler for the drama and there keeping the part where zhou wan crashes out in front of Lu xixiao but it looks like they’re gonna do it a little differently; i honestly felt so bad for zhou wan in that moment like she was only a teen going through all that.

There’s still the part in the novel where she’ll make a deal w Lu xixiao’s to leave Lu xixiao in order for him to basically ruin her mom if that makes sense.

In the novel Zhou wans grandma dies when zhou wan is only 16 and at the time she was already dating Lu xixiao, she took it pretty hard at stayed at home for 3 days Lu xixiao didn’t know until he asked Jiang yan. He rushed over to her place and let her cry on his shoulder for hours until she started to feel better and he then encourages to get herself together basically. I thought it was really cute but also really sad Zhou wan really went through a lot.

I think the betrayal will be her leaving him out of nowhere after they get even closer, because in the novel he doesn’t react strongly to her being her daughter.

I binged this whole thing today and it was so worth it. I will say definitely a little overly freaked out from what im used to but still a great show no dragged out misunderstanding trope or anything.
