This series truly struck home for me!

I finished watching RIABB for the first-time last night and am now on Ep 4 of the second time through. When Dan 'i responds in an interview that her childhood nickname was Bookworm, I laughed. My first job in middle school was shelving books in the school library and my first job in Los Angeles was shelving far more books in the huge downtown LA Library. For want of a better description, my home looks like one, with two floors overflowing with fact and fiction books. In past years I helped two friends get their first books published by serving as a reader, editor, proofreader, and contributor. One was a friend who lived nearby and the other - whom I have not met in person - lives in the UK. Plus, I also tried to run away from my wedding, but my father caught me and forced me (upper right arm in strong grip, leaving marks) down the aisle. Prayer does not mean the floor will open a swallow you as a better option, but perhaps it helped in limiting the marriage to only eight years. : )It is impossible to describe one perfect answer to every heart because we are all created so uniquely and made more special through our histories, wounds, healing, experiences, and whom we become in the process. When Dan 'i relates her feelings about wanting to hear the phrase, "I know how you feel" to one person, and late gently says to another that "we are not perfect", it was summed up - for me - how far she had traveled in her journey, both in life so far, but also in her understanding of self and humanity. Easy choices are to blame others, to deny reality of the situation, to throw fits and expect others to give what is wanted or to remove what isn't, to leave, or nag, or manipulate, or use guilt induction. Each of these is used as a tool by someone during the story. Yet, with the leads there is action and acceptance in various way that I found were heartwarming and completely lovely. The specialness of the relationship in the series is that of "relation-ship" and deep trust before there was ever a first step towards skinship and all the joy that may be found. Sometime people make vows that do not last and sometimes blessing occur when they are the least expected. Such a warm-hearted story that encompasses everything the best book out to give us. It is the same way in life. Dan 'i promises to be loving to herself each day - neither living in the past or the future - to experience her feelings fully. As she begins breathing more easily, relaxing, and enjoying her work and those around her, life within and with begins to open. The are no villain, even though there is a bit of mystery and suspense. There is a sweetness in this story that is light – though often profound - and emotionally refreshing. The actors were excellent, with the leads being so natural that one could easily believe they knew each other from childhood. I loved the series. Many thanks to the writer/s and director!
