I'm only six episodes in, but I'm already loving it. 😠I adore Lin Zhixia so much she's so unintentionally funny, and her awkward attempts to make friends are honestly adorable.
That said, I don't really get why so many people are already calling Jiang Yubai a red flag just because he wants to surpass her. In a lot of academic rival dramas, when it's the female lead trying to beat the male lead, people see it as cute or empowering. But when the roles are reversed, it's suddenly toxic?
Also, the drama is literally called Genius Girlfriend. The story is written with Lin Zhixia at the center she's the one everyone notices first. So I can understand why Jiang Yubai wants to prove he can shine through his own abilities instead of always being seen in relation to her. That doesn't mean he wants to bring her down; wanting your own identity isn't the same as resenting someone else's success. It's only been six episodes, though, so I'm excited to see how both of them grow.

The time skip happen after 5 years since their 4th grade in elementary when they're still 9-10 years old so they're probably around Grade 9 or 10 so maybe around 14-15 years old
