^^^ i think hanyan IS flawed in the sense that she's """selfish""" for wanting to keep her own MOM alive. which is such a human thing to want lol it's crazy to me that people are blaming her for that

the screenwriter did a really great job too :-) i think the drama's even more fun than the original novel plot

he wasn't "cured" per se (because he'd been drinking the poison for too many years) but they found a way to make it manageable

i think hanyan lowkey knows that he's not all he seems... 👁️👁️ back in an early episode when shuhong brought all the fancy snacks for her, she realises that her dad only ever sent her mung bean cakes (intended for servants) + you can see her expression drop when her mom yelled at her during their first meeting ("the zhuang family might look kind, but you all are beasts")

it's tencent's heat index, which is a way to measure popularity + engagement within their network. 28K is an AMAZING score (and i'm hoping it'll keep up the momentum and get to 30K!!)

my two cents on the discussion of ML being a widow: i think it's pretty cool to have a character depicted with that kind of backstory + considering it was an arranged marriage, we don't know yet if he actually did love her. so depending on how the plot goes... hanyan's probably his first and last love
