I get that feeling too, it's so hard to watch especially by the end since its so sad. But, the good thing is that in real life there was a happy ending!! I'd search up the IRL effects of the movie on policies and that school's faculty to feel a bit better. : D

I wouldn't say it's scary like a horror movie, just very sad and triggering for abuse and sexual assault of children. If those don't trigger you to fear, you will definitely at least be appalled that this ever happened in the first place. I highly recommend it because it's practically perfectly made, but it's one of those movies you'll likely never watch again, and a movie you'll want to watch by yourself. : (
