While watching this and reading the novel, the excitement and happiness are doubled. I’m really glad that most of the original parts of the novel are kept, and wherever modifications were needed, the drama team handled them well.

not sure but I’m somehow enjoying this back-and-forth timing here. Each episode makes me curious about exactly what happened in their past while also keeping me entertained with the present storyline.

wahh, you’re right! there is indeed a kiss scene in the flashbacks that I didn’t notice before, but im not sure if they actually dated. As you said, the way he’s so comfortable forcefully planting those kisses now definitely suggests that something happened back then. If they did date, the plot’s going to get messier, and not in a good way. She was literally the only guardian he could rely on… Or maybe they just got too close while spending time together? Since ML liked her, he just went for it… which could’ve made FL distance herself, even if she kinda liked him too. Meanwhile, ML could’ve thought she was also into him, but her sudden disappearance might explain why he’s acting so cold and rude now. just a guess… either way, it’s giving complicated vibes.

novel readers, do they have a happy ending in the original plot?

for those who want to watch romance, imo this is not the right show for you. there are plenty of romance shows airing at the moment that you can check out. what you’ll find here instead are stunning visuals, intense fight scenes, bromance, friendship, conspiracy, but NO ROMANCE (romance is not the focus of the show).

also, for those asking who the female lead is, there isn’t one. this is a male-centric drama, with most of the screen time dedicated to the male lead Luo Yunxi and the exploration of his character Tang Lici.

some shows are great and fun to watch even without a romance plot, and this is definitely one of them.

the only twist is that the bad people will be punished in the end. and, why can’t KYJ choose such roles? What’s wrong with that? An actor should dare to try every kind of role in their career to show the full range of their skills. honestly, where’s the fun in playing the same type of character in every drama? Plus, aren’t there plenty of actors who play anti-heroes/villain and they're doing fine? I said this before and I’ll say it again; if you guys r not into violence, blood, graphic scenes, and all the toxic stuff that comes with an anti-hero plot, then just skip this one because this kind of show isn’t for everyone.

YES. i haven’t watched Dashing Youth and The Blood of Youth, but i’m still enjoying this one! Even though these series are connected, you can easily watch each one as a standalone.

you're not alone. every time i see how they treat SMY and him, i feel bad for him. I’m not sure what kind of prejudice they hold against him; they act as if he has committed some heinous crime and deserves no warmth, love, or care. Is it because of his ruthless and scheming nature? that still doesn’t make sense, because he has been kind and friendly enough with these people. but their response? hatred and coldness. except for SMY, no one cares about him. i don’t know what kind of person he will turn into in the future, but up until now, the way these people including Bai He Huai, treat him make no sense to me.
