yes they subtly changed that in the drama. It started from ep 10 that he likes her (without him realizing it), not just attracted to her physically. That's why I feel like they didn't show enough of his red flags behaviour. In the novel, he specifically said he just wanna be fwb and doesn't want anything more, even rejected her confession, that's how rude he is in the novel. Curious to see the subtle change in the drama on their relationship progress

im not sure why but its quite common for cdramas to have reduced eps bcs of censorship and strict regulations there. My guess is probably too smexy haha. The main plot of this cdrama is technically about FWB so that makes sense

In the drama, his red flags are the fact that his mouth are unfiltered and talking rudely to the fl but they toned it down compared to the novel. He doesn't know how to communicate and lack emotional intelligence due to his pride and ego.

I just wish the drama shows a lot more red flag behaviours of Luan Nian that'll make Zhitao end the relationship for good. Miscommunications storyline is too common. In the novel, there were only sexual attractions from LN's side but the drama showed that he's falling for ZT instead of just wanting to sleep with her. He realised he's in love with her after their separation. I guess this is due to the episodes being cut from 32 to 24 eps.

So far, still satisfied with the plots and directing visuals. Hope the angst and yearning are worth the wait.
