Title The Untamed Spoiler
Hats off to Mo Xiang Tong Xiu for writing this novel. I admit, I am not familiar with Chinese Genres and literary works, but so far, this one could beat some of the most popular high fantasy novels of the West.
I began watching this drama as a purposeful distraction, but only managed to get into the 1st episode after several attempts. Atleast, this drama gave me a warning on what to expect in the 1st ep itself, unlike Ashes of Love, which took me on a happy trip then suddenly decided to throw me out of the bus by the last ten episodes. Then the flashback began and Oh dear... this drama emotionally scarred me for life. I feel completely useless after watching it, mostly, cause it reflects a lot of reality. Wei Ying going from a jolly person to someone who saw the harsh world was really touching, cause I have seen someone become like that in real life too. And the relationship between the siblings... Ep 32 and Ep 46 ruined my life. Damn. That closure with Jiang Cheng was beyond unsatisfactory and sad. (I suspected it since that episode.) But, hey, they are immortals and have lots of time to catch up. Everything in this drama was painful. All the main characters go through a lot. The elder sister's death, WY being punished by the whip, JC's core taken away while he tried to save WY, WY's happy visit to see JiangYanli's child being destroyed, the arguments between LWJ and WY, the Wen sect elders surrendering, the battlefield.... I could go on. The actors and script writers, directors and whoever worked on this drama all did a terrific job. (CDramas usually never disappoint.) Even the villains (except for the Wen sect guys, they were already evil to begin with) were cleverly written.
Raise your hands if you knew that Meng Yao would go bad right from the start. :D
Not to mention the Friendship/Romance/Bromance or whatever it was between the main leads. Either way, I am jealous cause it would be almost impossible in this lifetime for me to get someone like that. Every single character and the main themes of the story made me wonder once again about everything in life. Even after we know what is going to happen since the 1st episode, watching it is a really painful experience.
And the soundtrack, especially tha flute tune of the song that LWJ wrote for WY... so beautiful. And that ending scenes where we see WY smile once again like the old times.
This drama has landed right next to Lord of the Rings, my favorite series. And the second drama that did not disappoint me after Hotel del Luna. Unforgettable.

I fully agree. It was not sad ending nor happy ending, I would say it was nice ending where everything was wrapped…
ALM was okay. Personally, to me, the ending and the last few episodes felt way too rushed. Especially the last episode. The story has a good/happy ending, but how it reaches that point felt a bit off. Maybe cause I had higher expectations. Otherwise it was good. Also, I was one of the few people who didn't feel that L's acting was bad. So, that counts too.

They don't get a happy ending in this life, but it is 100% sure that they do meet in some other lifetime from the scene shown in the future. Them being togther would have ultimately ended in Tragedy too. (CS would grow and die and MW would be stuck in the hotel for a few more years) I watched a few Chinese dramas this year after Angel's Last Mission blew up my faith in Kdramas, so right now, I too, am hanging around searching for a new drama. :)

So far, the best drama I watched while still airing. Glad it didn't disappoint. It had the only sensible ending I could think of. Anything else would have been a cope out. On a side note, I wonder what the new manager did to end up with his soul tied to a tree.

Is jang man wol a human or a spirit? This question keeps bugging me ????
I wondered the same thing, but then in one of the last few episodes, Ma Go mentioned that the manager of Hotel Del Luna, who drinks the wine, loses his/her human form and instead has their soul chained to the tree. (Indirectly the tree is them.) Which was exactly Man Weol's punishment for her crimes.

i'm really hoping that it ends well but i just knew as soon as i watched the first episode its not going to be…
From the trailer, (and the recent preview), I thought that Dan would go back to paradise and Yeon Seo would continue her life as a ballerina. Unless, she remembers everything that happened. Or the writer will go for an ending like the one mentioned by you, or, worse, end the show like how she realizes that her true love is ballet. :D
Or that Dan turns to dust. Anything is possible. But, they better tie up the loose ends. (Like Ms. Jung, Art director, Ni Na.) So far their stories make me want to keep watching. But, the ending...

This drama seems to be leading towards a predictable ending. Its actually sad, cause it has lots of potential to end happily. I really hope the writers prove me wrong. Dropping this one for a while until the final episode airs.
