ep29 epic. PeiYi poisons all the court officials. It was an odd banquet though, no women family members. No dancers, not a lot of music. Nice touch, as the attendants announce the autumnal flavor of 'gentleman's wine' (poisoned), we see HuaiJin and Mr.Gu walking cautiously in the autumns woods and fog trying to catch Lu Chongsan. Diverted away on purpose.
A great battle in the garden of PofD's mansion. BaiLu looked amazing in white fighting robes with a twisty black design. WXY also looks amazing in black, confronting the swords of both PeiYi and Uncle Luo.
Great stand-off. Uncle Luo and PekiYi shaking with bloodlust, without a thought in their heads. HuaiJin did his best to reason them out of it but he wasnt terribly convincing, thank goodness the Imperial Guards finally arrived and hauled the Right Chancellor off.
So now what will happen? PeiYi was raised with love by the sister of the man who slaughtered her (PeiYi's) whole family. What is the best way for PeiYi to be sure the Right Chancellor is punished? Will HuaiJin and PeiYi finally be able to work together? More to the point is she going to be able to acknowledge him as her husband? Is it too hard for her to stop fighting for her own independence?
PeiYi seems to have spent a lot of time trying to manipulate the Emperor into helping her. Can she release herself from that dependence? I do not think she has room in her heart for HuaiJin; her father and the Emperor have owned her heart for so long.
beginning ep29 Oh No HuaiJin! Do not go behind Peiyi's back to finish her business for her!~ Has he really learned so little about her from watching over her for all this time?
The ML, GR. But YoHan makes him survive/live again in the novel he had hoped to write (YoHan recovers fully from his drug overdose). The FL looks like she will have her wish of being a cool granny. But Gyeong Rok never went to Iceland to see the aurora.
The problem for me is that a short series of shots of GR skateboarding through the Utopia basement, fixing a lightbulb there, and then attending a concert where he sits near the FL comes at a strange place. The FL has just visited GR's grave. Yohan has just spoken to her on the phone. It is difficult to disentangle the novel YoHan writes, where GR survives but with memory difficulties, from the reality of the movie plot where the ML dies tragically just after he and the FL agree to date again.
I am not even sure I have got that correctly? Anybody else? Politely if poss.
Interesting ending. A series of fantasies/fictional ;possibilities and realities. Sad but also light-hearted. I absolutely adore the final shot of the three amigos in full warpaint riding off into a fictional sunset. AI might be useful for makers of small movies -- a big finish on a small budget!
Using the hand-helds on an open channel!!!!!!! Too Sweet. The confession listened in on by the male staff crammed by the dozen into a stairwell and the female staff in a closet entrance. (separately, in the clearest unconscious signal of the actual separate sphere society still clinging on in the SK mentality!)
In the record store. That was a very swift but complex look he gave her after she told him he had talent. All of his fear and embaassment and hope about his own desired life, in one bright narrowed glance at her which shows his opened heart.
I was afraid I would be bored or sad, but instead I am delighted. Their first conversation? talking about music. Their first date? talking about dance.
The adjustment of vision to see her as beautiful keeps shifting. It is possible that the camera angles are deliberately varied, or that there is a jarring change in lighting from moment to moment.. It is hard to pin down the sources of one's own perceptions. Is this done best in a movie? Why? Why is it more of an intellectual paradox in a short time frame -- the idea that we see people as beautiful because they fit a common mold. 'Common molds' (i.e. current beauty stereotypes) vary from time to time, moment to moment..
this guy just choked a girl out to suck opium smoke out of her mouth. anyway
My thought is, let the kids make the rent money! This is a good way for young actors to survive, while waiting for a break, if nec. I look these shows every once in a while them to find people who might make it big. Notice that the same is true for directors -- you will find women here who cant get funding for larger projects, hoping to get a break if their work is noticed in these little shows.
ep28 he drops the bunny lantern, which magically rebalances itself and does not burst into flames at his proposal! Which, of course, she had to prompt him on; the simple version always escapes the true nerd. It was sweet, sealed with a kiss as the old song goes. I liked that she was dressed to the nines, in full head regalia. Pacing up and down, for how long?
Thank goodness HuaiJin's Mom is a practical person.

And I just noticed a humongous wooden Indian by the door of said restaurant. Metaphor? What metaphor?
vs. "singing in the Rain" ??????? lmao.
