this show was so refreshing. no deaths, revenge, and dramatic plotting - just wholesomeness. even the more intense episodes ended well. truly a healing and comfort show. loved all the dynamics, i couldn’t bring myself to hate any character because they were so well developed and everyone has their own nuance. the romance is mainly a side plot for most of it, but greatly progresses towards the second half. loved the pairings!

this really shows what true family is, and should be like. 10/10 one of the best slice of life shows out there.

On The First Responders Season 2 Nov 26, 2025
finished both seasons recently, both were equally good to me. season 1 cases were good and season 2 felt like there was an overarching main plot with cases that targetted certain characters to show us a deeper side to them, which i appreciated.

read the spoiler of do jin being written off but tbh they managed to keep the pacing and you could tell they tried their best to honour the character. i liked the way different characters grieved differently, especially Seol - you could tell she was most affected by it and the show also showed her slowly accepting and coming out of her grief towards the end. agreed that this season focused more on police + forensics, i did wish we could see the fire station team in action abit more.

overall a pretty solid watch, if you turn your brain off and just enjoy the ride. loved all the side characters - shoutout to Myeongpil and Doha, who were Jin Dogae’s ride or die. the ending tied everything up nicely and the romance was just nice. i also liked the detail they did where they centered every episode around a term/definition used in first responder scenarios like the various code types.

i’m so down for a season 3!

At episode 30 now, not sure if my weak heart can handle this, quite intense.Question: Did Lu Han sang the OST?
if you’re referring to the ending / theme song, yes Luhan sang it.

On Taxi Driver Season 2 Oct 17, 2025
binged in a few days - so good. the perfect mix of action, thriller and comedy! i loved the cases and how it all ties together in the end, and although they were plot holes i could easily turn my brain off and it’ll still be a good watch.

the character dynamics were explored more this season which i appreciated, and there was never a dull moment.
as always Do Gi is THE man. he practically represents taxi driver. looking forward to season 3 soon!

Title Legend of Zang Hai Spoiler
1. so did Zhuang Zhixing actually lie to Zang Hai before and tell him that the third enemy was the Queen of Dongxia…
1. yes, but he wasn’t working for ZBW. imo he didn’t want to give the while truth away so easily to Zang Hai, as he still blamed him partially for what happened to his father.
2. not explicitly explained in the show, but something to that effect.
3. ZBW killed him and blamed it on Zang Hai.
4. good question, maybe because he’s been known as Zang Hai the moment he met Antu, so it’ll be a bit weird if she suddenly started using his old name instead.

Title Justice in the Dark Spoiler
I'm confused,, how did the spirealm aired without any issues while justice in the dark was forced to stop airing…
this drama touches on more heavy themes of corruption in the police force, which is a very censored issue in china hence it couldn’t finish airing (this theme is even more prevalent towards the end of the series)

On The Legend of Zhuohua Jun 23, 2025
watching this feels safe - because it’s so predictable. and in a good way. from the plot to characters, everything is predictable if you’ve watched enough cdramas to know how these kinds of shows progress. i’ve even guessed multiple times what characters were about to say (almost word for word) before they actually said them LOLthe chemistry was decent, not the best, but it still made me care for the relationship. Zhuohua is one of the best FLs in cdrama land, one that really stands on her own two feet, is actually smart, and strives for her goals without relying on the ML to come and save her all the time. the leads’ relationship is true couple goals: they support each other and help each other grow. i love the idea of accompaniment - it doesn’t always have to be marriage. and our leads exemplify that. loved all 3 couples here - whether they had a good or bad ending. i think it could’ve used less episodes to tell the same story. the pacing in the middle was a little slow. other than that, 8.5/10

*you can watch at 1.25x speed, doesn’t affect anything

How did the emperor die? He opened the Gui Seal and then, what happened? I didn't see any comments explaining…
presumably died off screen by poisoning by Zhao Bing Wen

On Duty after School: Part 1 Jun 20, 2025
this show was almost exactly how i thought it would be - lots of action, characters that i can both love and hate, and touching emotional moments with some comedy. there were characters i found annoying at first, but their actions were understandable given the alien context. just wished some important characters were more fleshed out with back stories so we can see them grow. overall an entertaining watch.

i’m on the fence whether i should watch part 2 given the bad reviews… we shall see

Title Legend of Zang Hai Spoiler
Im on ep 34 and this show is amazing., however im still trying to figure out a few things. Like in the beginning…
- they had to burn all evidence of Zang Hai’s previous identity as Zhi Nu, which includes the place he trained at and was raised for 10 years, so that even if his enemies wanted to do a background check on him in future, they wouldn’t find anything suspicious. leaving the building there untouched would be a huge risk should someone with bad intentions stumble upon it and discover his true identity and motives

- imo the reason why Ping Jin Hou (marquis) did that was for his ego, he wanted to display his proudest ā€œachievementā€ and also remind himself of the time he had such prowess to kill an entire family; it is implied many times in the show that the marquis longs and reminisces about the times he was younger and could fight victoriously. perhaps flaying Zang Hai’s parents and displaying them was his way of reminding himself of that time

binged in a week+ and loved it. i went in with some expectations due to the good reviews and hype, and this show didn’t disappoint. what a rollercoaster from start to end. loved all the characters, the details in the story and the relationships too. admittedly didn’t like the FL that much at first but she really grew on me as the story progressed and by the end of the show i loved her. this show knows how to write and portray characters well - realistic ones with grey areas, weaknesses and strengths. the villains were great too, and i like how Zanghai never lost sight of his main focus of revenge. will be giving this a rewatch for sure! there’s just so many details one could miss on the first watch.

it’s been a while since i’ve watched something that actually takes the audience seriously. Xiao Zhan’s portrayal of Zang Hai is no doubt his best work yet - i can tell the amount of effort he put into bringing the character to life. this show is one for the history books.
