Title Soul Mate Spoiler
Didn't think hearing Ryu say "I love you" would be so heart breaking.
I never thought both of them saying I love you would be so sad

Title Soul Mate
So little did I know that this series would break every part of me.
Last year, I saw it on Netflix and thought, “Hmm… maybe I’ll watch this BL this time.” It was everywhere on social media, and when it finally came out a few days ago, I decided to start it.
Little did I know that it would absolutely destroy me.
And honestly, I will never understand the people who keep asking:
“Did they kiss?”
“Is it really a BL?”
“Was there romance?”
" I will not watch it if its bromance or not a bl "
Is that really the most important thing? Not everything needs intimacy and
personally, I think this is one of the most masterpiece-like things I have ever watched in my life.
It felt so realistic, yet so heartwrenching at the same time. There were moments where I cried because I could genuinely relate to it. It was beautiful in such a painful and honest way.
Seeing how different every character was, seeing their backstories, their struggles, and how every single one of them slowly developed throughout the story… it was genuinely something special.
This series made me realize how important it is to appreciate every moment and every second with the people we love. And maybe sometimes, a silly and strange meeting in a burning church can really become a lifelong friendship.
Johan completely broke me.
I related to him so much. He suffered from beginning to end. Losing his parents at such a young age, being treated horribly by people around him, and then being diagnosed with something that doesn’t even have a cure…
And instead of finding support, he ends up leaving the people he loves the most.
That hurts.
I think this series portrayed platonic love and friendship so beautifully. Yes, they loved each other deeply, but love does not always need to be romantic. And even if it was romantic, why does every story suddenly need a kissing scene to prove something?
What happened to chemistry?
What happened to character dynamics?
What happened to emotional connection?
This series had all of that.
The cinematography was incredible. The vibe, the atmosphere, the acting, the chemistry between the characters everything felt so raw and real.
And little did I know that hearing “I love you” in Korean and Japanese ( saranghae and aishiteruend) in the end of the last ep of the series would become some of the most heartwrenching words I’ve ever heard.
Would I watch it again?
Of course not.
I don’t want to be depressed again.
But this series will forever stay in my heart as one of the most beautiful masterpieces I have ever experienced because even after the series ended I still thought about it much . How the characters will live and more . AMAZING SERIE

So ...........Not me thinking Episode 10 was going to be just fluff and cute
but I was actually really relieved that they included some realistic moments in between. For example, the fight Duang had with his friend Jamie, and also the tension between him and his boyfriend Qin. I think it was really important to show that expensive gifts don’t matter more than small, meaningful ones just because they cost more.
I also loved that they shared the bill at the end so they could capture their moments together which I think is sooooooo cuteeeeee . Also Jamie is such a good friend too and I love the friendship dynamic with him and qin. He’s always there for Qin, whether it’s giving advice or helping him when he needs it, which I really adore and appreciate. Even when he got mad, it still felt like a realistic conversation.
Another thing I really love about this series is that there are no dragged-out misunderstandings. They actually communicate and clarify things at the right time instead of waiting forever, breaking up, and then getting back together. I’m so happy that kind of trope isn’t included here because its so UNNECESSARY . They try to solve everything right away, and I love the trio so muchhhhhhh like they’re such a comfort, and just so adorable. May this friendship find meeeeeee.
Something that really annoyed me, though, was Qin’s friend Kim. Like, why are you interfering in their relationship? I get that it can be frustrating if you’re trying to practice and Qin isn’t fully focused, but you have to consider that he’s in love. You’ve probably never seen your friend like that before. And it’s not like Duang is the only one in love Qin clearly is too. He shows affection just as much.
Personally just my opinion don't hate me pls , I don’t think Kim had the right to tell Duang to distance himself. If anything, he should’ve talked to Qin and said something like, “I know you’re in love, but maybe try to focus a bit more.” It’s not Duang’s fault. That really annoyed me Kim was so rude to Duang . It’s not his place to interfere like that.
I was glad that Qin immediately called him out after he said that, but Kim’s apology didn’t feel genuine to me. It felt more like, “I’ll just say sorry so we can move on.” That really disappointed me, and he definitely fell in my eyes after that.
Also, Qin’s trauma was really heartbreaking. Childhood trauma is one of the worst things because it stays with you forever. Maybe the wound heals, but the scar is always there. I’m really glad he finally opened up and let it out, because that kind of pain doesn’t just disappear. And honestly, I will never understand how someone could do something like that to a child.
Overall, I really loved it. CANTTTT wait for next episode and also can't believe the series I waited one year for is ending in freaking 2 weeks
