It's everyone, please don't pretend it's limited to GL spaces. Fans think they own the actors and the crew because...I don't even know. They watch a show free on youtube? It's entitlement all the way down, and sadly in this day and age nasty homophobic slurs are still some of the easiest things to reach for when that sense of entitlement isn't fulfilled.
imagine wanting to watch LGBTq+ series by LGBTq+ people even and then call those people queerphobic slurs for…
Lbr, some of the most homophobic people read and write m/m and f/f...and it shows when they have to deal with actual queer people in their comfy het spaces. I learned that a long, long time ago. I wish that it had changed but here we are I guess.
Couple that with the nasty entitlement people feel over these shows (and it's not just Girl Rules; any time a show isn't subbed or doesn't come out when they want or they don't like a plot point fans throw a hissy fit like they're the only people on the damn planet) and it's just a hot mess.
since it's twitter there's a decent chance those were bots. but either way it's toxic people who need to touch…
No it was real people. And I think dismissing it is part of the problem. "Oh, it's just bots/a few people/etc" does not mean that this behavior shouldn't be called out as disgusting. If it IS only a few people, GOOD, make it clear that they are not wanted or accepted in the community if that's how they behave.
Yeah, but unfortunately that's not how the BL industry works...
That's not how the romance genre works.
Like okay you guys hate pair branding. Not the biggest fan here either. But most romances telegraph the endgame couple literally from the trailer / first episode, even if there is another love interest or two to spice things up.
Shows are not often cut on youtube. When they say that there's a cut and uncut version what they mean is the version Thai folks are getting is cut for TV, so they should watch it on the app. Not interfans on youtube.
I think that the trailer was fun - I love that Boston is here to witness all the drama of a new maladjusted friend group (I say this with love). I also think that if anyone from the first show should be in a threesome it should be him. I live to mostly be disappointed by OF though so I'm not holding my breath.
Messy messy Mix! Yesssss. This is good. And Earth in glasses who progresses from "Romeo and Romeo should have a happy ending" to "I will symbolically kill both my love rival and my ex if it's the last thing I do"! Come on that's good stuff.
Me too, I think this is his only messy role and I'm here for it
He's not. He and Alan are messily and very complicatedly broken up and Alan treats it like cheating because he hasn't given up yet. But they're not together.
I think people look back at S1 through rose tinted glasses. I've rewatched it last week and it's just a fun low-to-mid…
I just dread the inevitable "Ray gets his threesome, nevermind that Sand never wanted one, Ray will just trample over his boundaries as always. Romance" SL or the inevitable "Ray has cheated on Sand but Sand needs to be the doormat once again and forgive him" plot that their cameo will bring. I actually really loved where they ended up in the show, before anyone comes at me. I just know they'll probably walk it back because having them be happy and better adjusted is boring.
Also I agree, people think they liked the OG better than they did when it was airing lol. Some people probably have revisited and enjoyed, but I think a lot of people are being revisionists.
after waiting and screaming for months just for the trailer to drop and when it finally did suddenly everyone…
It's like clockwork, lol. Wait until the show starts airing. People talk so fondly of Only Friends now, but during the run of the show it was like a freaking warzone.
GMMTV's backlog is absurd. They announced this show "for 2025" on 26.11.2024; 13 months later the show…
This isn't the first time this has happened - Us was promised in 2023 or 2024, we didn't get it until Jan of 2025. They routinely announce way more shows than they can reasonably get out in a year.
I also still feel like the Queen Mother's death put a wrench in things.
I try very much not to be entitled because frankly I've been spoiled by Thai shows, but I still want to say BOO to that.
That said, I can wait. I am used to waiting - I am from the old BL mines lol, we used to have to wait months for some kind fan translator to take pity. And well, I'm not entirely ready to say goodbye just yet so waiting isn't as much of a hardship as it could be. This has been one of my favorite shows recently, not leas of which because I feel like it is so rare these days to let both actors have meat to chew. It feels like so many just want to prop up one actor and it sucks for the other half of the pairing, who seems to exist to just prop the other up. Not so here - both Thup and Singha had arcs, both of them were dealing with their own demons, both had interiority and emotions that weren't just about the other half of their cp. Ahh, i will miss it.
That does tend to happen, yes.
Most people I know are excited for it for one reason or another. Where do you think the "hype" is dying?

Most people say that.
