The best tv drama of 2023
Twinkling Watermelon was a great surprise for me this year! It’s the best drama of 2023, no doubt! I didn’t expected that I’d like so much this perfection of a show. The plot, the characters and everything else made this so special and incredible, it’s really amazing. The relationship between father and son, the main plot of the series, is something beautiful. Every scene with them had comedy, drama, and so many other things that only if you watch it you’ll understand. It’s so hilarious when have to be, emotional and good as well. I lost count of how many times I’ve watched these two. It’s a drama that talks about deaf people, a family with a CODA (child of deaf adults) and time traveling. I know, it seems like they have many informations, but I guarantee you, everything makes sense for the purpose of the show.
And it was the end. I’m still not prepared for it. I’m so sad. I feel so attached to this characters. My precious Ha Yi Chan, you were one of the best characters on a tv show of all time, I love you so much. My awesome father/son duo, Yi Chan and Eun Gyeol, I’ll never forget you guys, you were the best thing that happened in this drama. Thank you for everything. Ok I’m crying lol. Twinkling Watermelon, forever in my heart.

You need to watch this. Top notch!
This is a masterpiece! How could everyone isn’t watching this series?! This is very good in so many levels. I’m amazed with the characters, the plot, everything is really awesome and well-written. Gao Yang and Ye Xiaowen’s relationship as brothers was growing up so beautifully and became something really strong and for life. They needed each other, this is for sure. I’m really happy that i found this hilarious, thoughtful and incredible show, and I’m going to advertise to everybody from now one. I’m speechless about this drama, it really connected with me, it’s everything that I enjoy watching, in all aspects. 30 episodes was great! And if there’s more, I certainly wanna see it. And you should too!Was this review helpful to you?

This is a beautiful brotherhood series
I love Longjie and Lirenyu friendship and brotherhood so much! They have a great chemistry. It started a little bit off, in my opinion, but after that it was right on point everything. The lasts episodes was so good on acting, they really delivered. I'm so sad that Lirenyu doesn't live with Longjie anymore, but I know that they cares about each other in theirs heart, forever. Their bound is never be missed. Was this review helpful to you?
It’s a good show, but with some flaws
I love the main plot of Go Ahead. It’s so original and well written to see the neighbor and his new friend raising these kids through the years, and see how they became a family. A different type of family. This was the thing that made me love these people so much. The caring of these three to each other and their fathers was something so beautiful to watch. He Ziqiu is my favorite character, along side with his dad. All the scenes with them two together for me bring the best quality that this show had to offer. The love of Haichao for his kids made me cry so many times. I don’t have words to describe how pure and genuine this was.But now I have to say about the negative things of Go Ahead. The moms. I think that have some things about the Chinese culture, that I’m not aware of, but how come these awful, so disturbing, disrespectful women made their kids suffer so much and in the end they had their “good ending”?! Specially Ling Xiao’s mom. This woman for me was the worst of this show. So many scene with her for nothing. Only she being awful and annoying all the time. Ok, I know she was sick, but I think the show losts its hands sometimes, cause it have so much other good plots to tell, and they show decide to show more of her awfulness. Parts of I didn’t like more was because of her. The other ones, so many things I think were wrong, oh my God… I can’t even know what to say. The only one that for me have the perfect story was He Mei. We understand what she went through, and she deserves a happy ending with Haichao. They are perfect together.
Talking about to the three main characters, the siblings. Their chemistry was top notch. For me, I don’t think that was necessary to put Ziqiu to had a “love interest” for JianJian. They’re siblings, the end. And I like that she end up with Ling Xiao. They’re meant to be since they were little. This was beautiful too.
So, in conclusion, I have the feeling that the 40 episodes was too much, for things that for me doesn’t sound good to tell (the so much of the mothers plots, the worst of it). But the rest was so good, and in general was a good show too.
In my heart, I’ll stay with this cute family in my heart, Haichao, Heping, Ling Xiao, Ziqiu and JianJian. All the times that they’re all together, was the highlight of the show. They are the best thing of all this.

This is for all who has a dream
I’m starting this review saying that I’m speechless with I just saw it. This show is a masterpiece. I don’t expect that I would like so much. Deok-chul and Chae-rok chemistry is the top notch here. They leads the show with their relationship growing that was magical to watch. Seeing in the beginning that Chae-rok doesn’t even want to teaching Deok-chul ballet and in the end happen what it happened show us the well done construction of their friendship and them becoming a family.I know that so many people already said this, but for me all that matters was what these two built together. The 12 episodes were magnificent. In the end, it turns out that everyone follow their dreams and that what matters.
This drama is not about a love story, it’s about a different type of relationship. And It was wonderful.
