My Lady’s Bodyguard is a Thai GL production from Kongthup’s Production with an entertaining premise: a disguised bodyguard who must protect a rebellious young noblewoman, while an undeniable romantic tension grows between them. Unfortunately, the execution does not live up to the idea. The acting is quite weak for much of the 7 episode run, which makes it hard to stay invested even when you want to give the show a chance. The fight scenes, which should reinforce the protagonist’s role as a bodyguard, end up being one of the weakest parts: they feel clumsy and unconvincing, taking away from the credibility of the action and danger promised by the synopsis.
