I have tried to think of her as an immature woman caught in a toxic relationship. This does happen to many women…
I agree the relationship was super toxic but I thought she was the toxic one ๐๐ Her character would make a bit of sense if (as fans of the book say, I haven't read it) Luke was egotistical, cold, and treated her wrong all along the 6 years. The writers added depth to him and only kept his cutting words. He showed love by giving gifts, acts of service, he cooked for her, protected her, defended her, cheered for her publicly everytime she did a good job. when she made mistakes ( the poster) he asked if she really was the one who messed up and listed the consequences she had to face. and then shortened it (6months without promotion instead of a year).. He was always good to her except when he opened his mouth I guess once every 6 months.. which is bad . no questions about it. but he wasn't just that. Flora on the other hand did nothing for him. she gave nothing. Everytime she thought there was a problem, she gave him the silent treatment, blocked him or just broke up with him. she never asked questions. she only took and never gave back, never appreciating the efforts he made. I waited for her to mature but up to the last episode, she was always playing victim. Luke is a character who believes he's hard to love. maybe because of his foul mouth. his dad never showed him love. his mom kinda apologised for his behaviour without knowing anything... only Lumi knew his heart and to not listen to his words. I would have preferes an FL like Lumi who wouldn't just take the words. and try to understand what's underneath. or even Flora from the few first episodes who saw through the mask. but then instead of understanding and having real conversations with him. I wouldn't have minded a break up because she feels insulted. but saying the relationship was shameful and empty. it broke my heart for him.. Luke is a very complicated character. with multiples sides. he's not simple. and the actor held the drama with his acting skills, his eyes, his micro expressions... The character of Flora was botched. and yes they did not match at all..
What do you mean by this.. Tao is the one who should apologies but luan the one always apologising ๐ช Yeah ..…
I'm not ready yo watch the last 5 episodes because of this.. her words are by far worse than his.. she ignored everything good he's done for her, how he cheered and applauded her publicly every chance he got, how he's always defended and protected her, as much as he could because she didn't let him... he put his own career on the line for her.. and in the end it all meant nothing. she never acknowledges how unfair she was to him.
This drama is so triggering for me.. Flora is that person that gives you crumbs thinking they're giving everything. who set the rules of the relationship and you have to accept it or you're called insecure.. who would then call your becoming the worst version of yourself because of her actions.. and be blamed for that reaction.. the way she's destroying Luke is unbearable to watch because I've been there. she managed to gaslight him into believing he wasn't good to her. he didn't help her through her career. he didn't cheer for her publicly.. she never introduced him as his boyfriend. or held him or cared about his insecurities about his dad.. yet she'd do that to her friends and then question him about being hurt. it's not jalousy. it's hurt. when you're sidelined in your own relationships and then you're asking for too much when it's the bare minimum. we always call out guys for the bare minimum. what about girls! I don't care about gender. Flora didn't give Luke the bare minimum and calling him out for saying hurtful things? I wish they break up and we get a part 2 of him finding someone real.. that deserves him.. she can go have her career elsewhere
So I saw someoneโs comment earlier about the flaw of this drama. The problem is that they changed Lukeโs character…
you can still hate Book Luke or blame him.. but Show Luke is different. I'm not going to read the book, so my entire opinion is about the drama. to me, those are completely different stories..
I hate Flora with a passion I never knew existed in me. ๐ maybe because everyone is siding with her or defending her.. when I compare their dynamic with a Turkish drama Sen รงal Kapimi, where he's a very known architect, she's a student. he's INTJ too and says all the wrong stuff, but Eda ENFP is always there to correct him. no one ever said, she's young so she doesn't know.. 24 / 26 is not young. Flora is the red flag. she blocks, ignores, and gives the silent treatment everytime there's a problem. a problem she starts because either she lies, hides the truth or disrespects Luke. She never gave him any signal that she appreciates him as a boyfriend. she's always living her life like he doesnt exist. of course he'd feel sidelined, and stupid.. and that causes the reactions in him, he says the most cutting words... all he ever wanted from the beginning is to be loved despite his shortcomings.. I want him to break up with her not the other way around. but he won't because he actually does love her.
I'm on the same episode right now... (EP 15) **pls don't hate me for my opinion Same... this side of her pissed…
I agree with everything you said. I see nothing of Shen Xihe in her. I don't understand how no one of her family questions it. people change and mature but not that much in so little time. and then maybe she's so not used to a loving family that she was nervous ๐คท๐ปโโ๏ธ but I agree that so many details are glossed over
mid ep 15 and the FL is annoying the hell out of me.. I don't get why she's breaking the engagement. they obviously have the same goals. wouldn't she want him to have "spies" and relations in court? how are they supposed to do good then? she's marrying a prince, the crown prince at that.. like any of his brothers is better ? or have no influence? I've seen some people saying she'd get better. but she's a headache in human form right now
one episode per day is not enough. and episode 11 felt choppy. and the jumps didn't make sense. I saw some clips on tiktok said from ep 11 but didn't see them in the actual episode. I hope it's a one time occurrence.
Fei is so like me, as in, she overthinks everything and believe absurdities her mind tells her based on nothing at all. when all she had to do was ask and listen ๐ not just her. he does it too.. like can you please just have a conversation face to face and not behind a door.
