Can I ask how possessive and jealous Big Jane was in the novel?
Many people misunderstood Big Jane after watching the trailer because of the demon wings shown in some scenes. They assumed it was going to be a supernatural story about a human and a demon, but that isn't the case. The wings are purely symbolic. They represent the idea of "making a deal with the devil."
Big Jane is an ordinary human who makes deals with students, using his money, influence, and connections to grant their wishes. In return, they must pay a heavy price, often something emotionally or personally devastating. That's why he is compared to the devil.
His first meeting with Little Jane, however, was completely unplanned. They met on a football field when Big Jane got out of his car to pick up a ball. Little Jane simply handed it back to him without recognizing who he was or wanting anything from him. His sincere and genuine attitude caught Big Jane's attention because everyone else approached him for money, power, or favors.
Out of curiosity, Big Jane began love bombing Little Jane and tried to make him fall for him, almost as if it were a game. He wasn't in love at first, but after spending more time with him, his feelings became real. Later, when Little Jane wanted to leave the relationship, Big Jane refused to let him go.
I kinda smelled it. But black flag? That I didn't knew. One thing confuse me why big jane want to trap little…
Big Jane first approached Little Jane out of curiosity, not love. When they first met on the football field, Little Jane looked at him with complete sincerity. Unlike everyone else, he wasn't interested in Big Jane's money, status, or influence he simply wanted his ball back and didn't even know who Big Jane was. Fascinated by someone who expected nothing from him, Big Jane decided to win him over through love bombing. Only after spending more time with him did his feelings become genuine.
Everything changes when Little Jane discovers Big Jane's true nature after a girl dies because of one of his deals. He tries to leave the relationship, but Big Jane refuses to let him go. He manipulates him psychologically, isolates him, exploits his weaknesses, and even traps him in a contract to keep him by his side.
The abuse eventually becomes so severe that Little Jane reaches his breaking point. His entire family gets dragged into Big Jane's schemes, leaving him emotionally devastated. When Big Jane finally sees him collapse, he realizes the damage he has caused and tries to make amends. Their relationship is very similar to To My Shore: once the abuser realizes how deeply he has broken the person he loves, he finally lets him go in an attempt to make up for the harm he has caused.
On-hold. Cause my friend told me that this is a love triangle...or should I say love rectangle? Since both Korn'…
You could say there's a love triangle, but Dan is firmly stuck in the friend zone. He has feelings for Little Jane and tries to protect him from Big Jane, but their relationship never becomes romantic or intimate
Can I ask how possessive and jealous Big Jane was in the novel?
Big Jane is known as “the devil” because he makes deals with people at school and university, using his power, money, and connections to fulfill their desires. This is how he relates to others in general: through contracts where he gives something in exchange for a future emotional or personal “payment.” This way of interacting defines his personality and the way he understands relationships. This also extends to his relationship with Little Jane. After a girl dies for failing to fulfill one of Big Jane’s deals, Little Jane becomes afraid and starts to see his true nature, which makes him want to leave the relationship. However, Big Jane applies the same contract logic to them. At first, the relationship seems normal, but once Little Jane tries to leave, he begins using manipulation, psychological pressure, and emotional control, just like he does with other people. In fact, he ends up making a “contract” with Little Jane by exploiting his weaknesses, because for him this is the only way to keep him close and prevent him from leaving.
Black flag?!?!! and I thought he was such a gentleman, guess the OST lyrics didn’t lie
LOL, girl, this isn't even a red flag it's a black flag🏴. At first, Big Jane seems super sweet and adorable, but it's all an act. He's been manipulating Little Jane from the very beginning. If you've seen the Chinese BL To My Shore, it's kind of like that. Once Little Jane finds out what Big Jane really does and all the horrible things he's done, he tries to leave him. But Big Jane won't let him go. That's when he drops the act completely and shows his true colors. The trailer even shows Little Jane kneeling in front of Big Jane not for anything romantic, but because he's completely given up. We're seriously not ready for this series. Protect your mental health.😫🤣
I've seen some people say that the main couple gets together too quickly, so I wanted to clarify something.
In most BL stories, the main focus is watching the characters fall in love and eventually become a couple. That's why they usually don't start dating until the middle or even the end of the story.
This one is different.
The story isn't about how they become a couple it's about their relationship after they do. That's why they get together early. Most of the story focuses on their unhealthy and toxic dynamic.
At first, everything seems sweet and caring, but as the story goes on, you'll start to see why this is a black flag story. That's the whole point.
So far, the drama is much softer and lighter than in the novel. There's a much more depressing and cruel atmosphere…
When the final trailer came out a few days ago, the scenes near the end of their youth and the ones set ten years later looked much darker and more emotional. There seemed to be more tension, pain, and suffering.
I think the show may be starting with a brighter and happier atmosphere on purpose so that, when everything changes later because of certain events, the emotional impact will be much stronger. Watching the characters suffer after seeing them happy will probably be more painful for the audience than if the story had been dark from the beginning.
reading the comments i see a lot of ppl mad abt abolishing monarchy like i understand we came here for the alternate…
For me, abolishing the monarchy didn't make much sense and the ending didn't really justify it well. I get the arguments about protecting his family or not wanting the role anymore, but it still felt like such a huge decision was made way too easily and quickly. Also, the ending left some plotlines underdeveloped and a few villains got endings that felt too soft.
I totally dropped this show during season one because it was a mess, so I wasn't hyped for the sequel at all. But I gave it another chance yesterday and I'm hooked! I can't wait for the next episode.😝😝😝🤪🤪
When is the next lineup for DMD I'm trynna see PorTeeteePor again
We'll probably have to wait quite a while for another series from them. There are many new couples and next-generation actors who still haven't had their own show, plus the series that were already planned for this year. So far only about two or three have been released-three if we include the historical series Love Upon a Time.
If we're lucky, maybe next year, when they announce the new projects they plan to film, one of them might get a series. But since many actors still haven't had their own show, it's hard to know how they'll manage it.
They might also release a special episode of Duang With Me, since the series is very popular. If we're lucky, we could at least get a special.
dmd lowkey has the most gorgeous actors in thailand like
Literally, you start to see their series and all the actors who come out and are part of their company are too handsome. Literally, you watch their shows and all the actors who come out and are part of their company are too handsome. 💓💓
What happens is that Malvis is supposed to be Korean, so being in Thailand, he speaks in English. The thing is…
I'm not being xenophobic. When I said it could feel cringe, I wasn't talking about the Thai accent itself. I was talking about the context of the story. In the novel, the character Melvis is Korean and doesn't speak Thai, so he's supposed to communicate in English. But in the series, they sometimes switch between English and Thai, and the character even has a strong Thai accent while speaking English. That can feel a bit unrealistic compared to the
original story.
So the issue isn't the accent at all-it's the lack of realism with the character's background. Some viewers who haven't read the novel might also find it confusing and wonder why the characters are speaking English if they can speak Thai. That's the only point I was trying to make.🤦🏾♀️
OHMYGODI almost had a respiratory failure in the last five minutes! And when I found my breath again I realized…
The characters communicate in English because the character, Malvis, is Korean and has gone to live in Thailand. Since he doesn't speak Thai, English is the only language he can use to communicate. However, the actors are not native English speakers, and their strong Thai accents are very noticeable, which can make some scenes feel a bit awkward or cringe. Still, it's not really their fault, because according to the story they are supposed to be speaking English.
