Everyone deserve a second chance?

This drama came from my same list that had Amanza, melancholia, move to heaven and Doctor John, all of them set in dramas that I am not used to seeing and all of them were my favorites.

It is very slow, I even watched it at 1.5x speed because if I don't I would never end, but that was not a problem for me.

It has graphic scenes of violence and they are always talking about the heavier cases like prostitution and rape, which I found very interesting, since Korea itself has a lot of these cases but they are usually very "covered up".

Does everyone deserve a second chance? I think this is the main point of the dorama, here, we see two sides, the FM even mentions that they could minor offenders and gives maximum penalty whenever possible, after all, they committed a crime, being a minor or not. On the other side, we see ML who understands that they are young offenders but that some need to have the chance to possess a second chance. I thought it was very well written that in some moments, which one of the two is right weighed heavily on the episode, but in the end we came to the same conclusion:

It is not up to us who saw it to judge who deserves a second chance or not and yes, to the judges based on evidence.

Overall, it was a very different drama from what I watch and always in the second episode of all the stories I was extremely heartbroken because I realized that the story doesn't end after the trial, after all, the victims and the families will always suffer about what the minor offender did.

I don't even like math, but I might start to like it.

First, I usually don't watch dramas that are not romance focused, this was the second on my list and I couldn't be introduced to a drama without romance in a better way.

For me, the drama is about school corruption and all the ( few) scenes where the main characters have together romantically is enough once their chemistry explodes and I realized that you don't need many scenes focused only on romance to realize that they love each other as much as they love math.

I simply LOVED the whole corruption part, usually in other shows that deal with this subject, it's a very complicated thing to understand, but in this one I found it extremely well explained.

Another positive point is that it shows how much Korean parents expect too much from their children, always expecting them to be the best at everything, and that corruption really happens, very real.

In general, it is a very slow drama, you need to start watching it knowing that the main point is NOT about the romance because if you watch it just for that, you will not like it and above all, you will not enjoy the plot about corruption.

Another very interesting thing was the approach to mathematics, I didn't know it could be so beautiful and above that, how it could be the love language of the characters.

In general, the ending was well done, but I think they left too many questions unanswered: Was everyone who was part of the corruption arrested? What happened to the school committee? And several other questions.

But in general, I liked it more than I expected, it has such a soft touch at some moments but at the other you are shocked by the end of the episodes, waiting for more answers.

If you like "revenge" with a dash of love, it's definitely for you.

It´s a cute slowburn

The drama follows the famous cliché we are different and for some reason, we need to live together. Let me say that I am not so fond of this cliché because 80% of the time the characters just fall in love, and this one I really need to give extra points because the slowburn was very well done.

They set up several situations where both she taught him to see the world with her eyes and he did the same, it was a very beautiful and well done exchange of learning.

The OST stayed very, very much in my head, I found it very enjoyable to listen to.

The acting I don't have anything positive or negative to say, I thought it was ok, even though I didn't understand why they used a man to play a woman. The secondary/tertiary couples were also very cute.

Anyway it's a very slow drama but it focuses on everything a relationship should have: friendship, respect and love.

A very good beginning and then...an average drama

First, I really LOVED the first part more than anything, up to episode 7 if I'm not mistaken. It was very, very funny, FL doing everything to piss ML off and him not being able to do anything about it because he would be lying, if it followed that story to the end, it would be a solid 8/8.5 for me.

My problem with this drama was from the middle to the end, I didn't understand why this one started to focus more on mystery and corruption than the original story and for me, it became very boring. I wanted to see the dynamic of the two between I'm going to do everything I can since I'm going to die and him have to put up with it. Also, why did they end the cancer plot early? It was something that once again, made the story more interesting.

Another thing that I just rolled my eyes at and made me lower my grade quite a bit was that ML just ALLOWED or REHIRED all the villains again,. when they just wanted to hurt him,.... like, without any sense at all.

And let's not even talk about the drastic personality change he had, first he was a methodical boss and out of nowhere he started forgiving everyone? To me, it was not well written.

Anyway, I started the drama with hype and ended up finding it to be a disappointment.

This is how you make a quality BL Korea

When I started this drama I had already seen about 4 other small Korean dramas that had the same formula, so I was discouraged because I didn't expect much from that formula.

This dorama was a big surprise to me because it didn't follow the formula which for me, already raised the grade as a whole.

I just loved that for the first time the two of them did the bare minimum of having a relationship problem and talked about it, amen. THAT'S HOW YOU MAKE A HEALTHY RELATIONSHIP, KOREA, LEARN.

In terms of story I admit that there is nothing exciting but let me tell you that I SIMPLY LOVED the end of each episode that showed how they were literally in a game, I found it VERY creative.

About the acting I thought it was ok, not spectacular but not bad either.

If you are tired of the usual formula of Korean BLs, this one is for you. It flows so well that I could watch 40 minutes per episode and I wouldn't get bored.
