Bittersweet , Heart flustering and Painful

The show opened with great premise the setting set around the show indicated what the show mainly focused about ,the uprising, from the beginning you’re pulled to get deeply involved with the characters and their stories, the main lead’s embodiment of great virtue with good morals which is hard to find in a show his representation from the very start amazed me and had me falling, our female lead is a strong character facing hardships from a young age not like your stereotypical female who needs all her problems solved by the ML and needs sympathy A BIG NO!!? she might be struggling and in a difficult situation but doesn't need viewers to piety her character, she is embodied with bravery and courage, the side characters started initially as annoying but later on you will come to understand their stance their situation and how realistic the selfish portrayal is of them and the way they acted are justified .

The romance drew me in and hit me hard the beginning of falling for the one who you’re not supposed to happens to be going against the odds for love which in between is showcased is hard as how both leads struggles to found their footings and stray away for a while to test their love for each other and how beautifully and realistically they realize they can't live without each other their love without even saying a word can be demonstrated by the way they glare at each other how intimate and vulnerable they are to each other and how understanding they are of each other which displayed reality of love in life that love is not easy it has it's ups and downs but they are the things what makes it worth it.

The show focused upon how people who lost their loved once in the uprising were left alone unable to process without their loved once throughout their lives and how one month affected their whole life how scattered they became how nerve wrecking they felt the constant urge to not live anymore but have to continue to struggle and pull yourself for the loved once who would want them to live how hard it is to survive and have constant insecurity of loss how vulnerable certain circumstances make you.

The director and production did a great job the whole 80's setting was exceptionally executed and without a doubt should receive their reward for such great work from the beginning I just loved the scenes the tone and how emotionally it was showcased just astoundingly.

I watched it while it was airing from episode 1 and still can't get over this masterpiece give it a try if you're looking for great chemistry and storyline but buckle up for emotional scenes and how realistic the execution is and from episode 8 onwards has major violence so bear that in mind but also from episode 1 till 6 had great character development and romance scenes from 7 to 8 it gets heavy and last episodes are bittersweet and but worth it.
HAVE GOOD LUCK WATCHING AND LUCKY YOU THAT YOU DON'T HAVE TO WAIT A WHOLE WEEK FOR EPISODES!!

Realistic, beautiful and admirable

FIrst of all let me tell you the amount of times I’ve tried to watch it and couldn’t get through the first episode then after all this time finally gave it a show mostly because of Lee Jong Suk but was pretty surprised by how good it is.

PROS
*focus on book publishing and creating was brilliantly executed and viewers were drawn to how personal and how much hard work is poured while creating a book the whole process was unique and interesting to see

* Lee Jong Suk has character is really enjoyable and the way the story develops it and the emotions portrayed by the actor are phenomenal

*storyline even though it is pretty basic but it keeps you attached and not get boring I’m the kind of person who skips a-lot while watching but this show was good enough to watch without skipping a second

*initial platonic relation between ML and FL is admirable and their development is cute

*second lead couple development is just awwhh they’re too cute
SPOILER

ever though they didn’t get together till the last episode they were still cute af

SPOILER END
*side characters are intriguing and enjoyable

*the whole stereotype of woman returning to work and facing challenges Initially is catered really well

*cinematography is just beautiful makes my heart fluster at times

*end credit of writing is admirable and beautiful

CONS
*ML and FL romantically lacks chemistry that I had prepared all ready the lead actresses can’t act at times and idk felt pretty annoying I mean Lee Jong Suk has really great chemistry with pretty much all his costars ( well couldn’t stand the FL in Doctor Stranger but let’s talk about that on another occasion) you could feel the love and admirations he had for the FL character but even after they started dating the FL was just blank Idk it’s not because of age gap because many actors with age gap has best chemistry take eg. Something in the rain or it could be because the FL is married she might have felt uncomfortable and couldn’t really get on the character well I could not really feel any chemistry between them should have just kept their platonic relation till the end tbh ( lmao will get attacked because of this but whatever)

*FL having a child was totally useless and ignored and as a mother it felt she didn’t really focused more on her child like if she quit working because of taking care of her child after 10 years suddenly why did she just leave her child completely off the hook and cared more about her job suddenly didn’t really made sense to me honestly one movement she left her successful career for her kid and then boom child is just gone doing whatever the F viewers couldn’t catch up with

*the story felt draggy at times would have been better if it was a 12 episode show then a 16

IT IS AN UNDERRATED MASTERPIECE

I usually never prefer watching slow paced shows which have serious undertone linking to the meaning of life but this changed my mind I initially gave it a chance as it only had 10 episodes so like it could easily be watched and by the end I was dying for more episodes I loved how beautiful the execution of the characters were even the minor guest appearances side storyline was set up over a span of short duration, the stories of deceased not only felt real and touched your soul but it felt so personal at times you yourself find grieving over loses and feeling hopeless and specially the Geu-ru's character which was unique and for a 17 year old the actor played it gracefully and IDC HE DESERVES AND AWARD FOT IT.

The music was beautiful and felt soothing and refreshing and specially the direction was amazing it was beyond expectations how amazing this gem of a show is give it a try YOU WON'T REGRET IT BELIEVE ME I'm the kind of person who only watched rom com and non serious shits but this show has made a place deep in my heart!!

Spell bounded storyline with unique characters arch

The premiere episode sets the mood and is slow at times, the continuous time lapse leaves you confused but still manages to keep you hooked on wanting for more, the music and cinematography deserves it fair share of credit due as it is not only exceptional but helps viewers to understand the tone and emotion of the respective scene

The way this show showcased light on dating abuse is applaudable the clear cut details which are at times disturbing but shows only a drop of reality is a eyeopener to the corrupt society, the power struggle which the law at times ignores and completely turns their eyes away end up causing a huge difference and trauma to certain individuals , the way the victim's side was explored, the hesitation, the emotions the individual feels when going through such toxic phase in their life and how hard it for them to accept the fact that they are indeed victims and require courage and determination to overcome such phase to start new and learn from such disturbing incidents and their aftermath of finding hope

The first four episodes are rather slow and makes you question your sanity at times but it least in a good way and does not make you feel overwhelm with the amount of information the show wanted to convey

Han Joon Hwi our golden boy who seemingly has it all but the the emotional scars he has due to feeling of betrayal by a close one remains hidden to the outside world at least for a bit, a uncle whom he considers the most important person and gradually drifting away from him and the emotional imbalance with such changes. His close relationship with the professor how he cares for him or at time you really question his intentions towards him, his down to earth personality but with a notch of arrogance from all that academic excellence really makes him stand out , the emotions he displays in the initial episodes really gets to you and you sympathize with him and at times question what is he even doing

I really loved how Kang Sol A she was hella relatable we always see these bright smart kids who end up in a prestige institution but never learn the struggles one has to go even when giving it your all, the way she never gives up and works hard it's rather unique and quiet admirable character trait which many of shows do not showcase . In the initial episodes she was exhibiting as a dumb and immature FL but gradually you see her character arc broadening I love her character development and admire her courage she never holds back from expressing her opinion and her priority to clear her doubts which often leads to her giving us second hand embarrassment is a con and a pro but hey we've all been there ain't that the case chief

The professor's dedication towards his students is some next level shit man even when is being questioned to prove himself innocent he strives and changes his course to treat that as a lesson for his students , without making it obvious he always motivates and encourages his students to strive harder for their goals and is always there for them , even when one doesn't believe he gives them benefit of the doubt and never lets judgement from society get in his way to treat every individual fairly. In the second half which can be clearly observed and his morals which even lead him to resign being prosecutor shows authenticity and sincerity to once profession and importance to certain element in life

The focus on power struggle and rich getting away from their crimes have been highlighted but karma comes to you and gives you the taste of your own medicine it's enjoyable to see the responsible individuals losing their mind and paying for their crimes.

The storyline is quiet enjoyable in the first half but the last few episodes becomes increasingly predictable the story lost the attention of viewers at times gets kind of draggy that but still you can't really predict what gonna happen and who is responsible for it

Overall really enjoyed the show kinda wish it had bit more romance but oh well the storyline and characters made that empty hollow in my heart go away

Are great visuals and overflowing chemistry worth it ?

Nevertheless, one of the most anticipating and talked about show stated to be portraying 'realistic relationship' with it's ups and down.

their chemistry dang their scenes have a separate fanbase count me as a CEO of that fanbase I mean considering it being a part of K-drama which is kind of conservative coming to displaying intimate scenes it was rather a shock and dedass made me choke on my breath save to say their chemistry carried the show it was a delight to not see forced scenes which makes you hella uncomfortable kudos to the actors for such flawless execution

Na Bi an insecure girl not having enough experience of relations got out a toxic relation only to end up with a dude full of red flags if you can set aside the 'we're portraying the reality of couple' the hey you're good to go but still if you stuck with the real portrayal oh boi you mey be disappointed babe just take some popcorns be ready to swoon over their hot chemistry at one minute and scream from utmost frustration the next minute. Still the way she stands up for herself and speaks out her thoughts is rather unique and her not being the shy reserved FL is also a plus point people, she is grown ass adult she must make some mistakes and learn from them that's how life works it not always rainbows and butterflies (oops well there were lots of butterflies to find here tho ;) )

Jae Eon's character was rather skeptical and yet controversial pretty sure his great visuals and acting placed a part in making you feel vulnerable and indecisive from the very start his character sketch was mmhh pretty clear a playboy who restricts himself getting involved in nothing more than physical relations and not get emotionally invested in another individual and over the course of ten episodes his backstory was well not discovered at all just a hot dude who wants to have flings with Nabi but later kinda starts having complicated feelings which is pretty new for him just the usual playboy getting changed by our very own miss naive and innocent FL . His own personal life could have been focused upon more and would have given views more insight on this actions and the way he thinks but it's pretty biased to say that he did not change he did and eventhough the charcter development was bit slow but you ca see the emotions and the way he acted and how much he cares about Nabi

The whole second ML intervention in the story was rather forced and pretty cringe and stereotyped considering displaying him as an 'innocent and naive' individual his character arch was rather questionable.

Coming to production firstly, cinematography the director really made them bucks count amazing cinematography the was the scenes were captured whether it be of characters or the places just amazing over top of that the amazing soundtrack really loved the osts

Most importantly, representation of lgbqt community a rather appreciable and great step taken by the writers loved the interaction between the couple and their interactions were just natural and not clingy or stereotyped.
